Boy, you gotta give the man credit where credit is due. He's trying to make this legislature some resemblance of a functioning body (for some reason images of Rachel Dratch drooling with a baby arm are invoked by this clan). I doubt too many of the folks he's speaking to like humble pie, but surely they can at least try cognisant cake (sensible souffle; too much?). I don't think that anything has really taken place this legislative session and its unfortunate that a deliberate, hardworking, and sincere person like Speaker Carter has to see his talents (and the needs for Arkansans) go to waste. Oh well, I guess Arkansas seems to be changing from a "what have you done lately for me" State to a "have you done something to them lately" State.

      They just don't get it!

We are going to agree to tax a group that fared well in the last George W depression to raise some needed revenue.

THEN we are going to cut a DIFFERENT tax for that same group that fared well to give back the taxes that were taken in the first tax????????

"Splain" to me what good that exercise accomplished.

When can we get some grownups to check in on the kids playing around on Good Old Boys State?

I would be more impressed if Davey would have gotten the house to tackle the serious issues facing our state in the first half of the session. Still, he looks like he's trying to get that band of baggers in the house to get serious about governing. I wonder how long before they revolt, and attempt to remove him as Speaker of the House.
