pcpropertyowner, you seem to think JP Blackwood has no right to protect the drinking water of her constituents. I strongly disagree. That's what she ran on and was elected to do.

I suspect you are one of those small landowners in the watershed who has such a prejudice against anyone who wants to protect the water coming out of Lake Maumelle. Too bad for you as you're in the minority. You've got blinders on, pc.

PS- I'm not one of her constituents, but I appreciate her efforts nonetheless.

Does Denton have hunting dogs? I saw a fellow that looked like Denton and his dogs where the Ouachita Trail access is located at the western end of Lake Maumelle. I hope whoever it was, wasn't running their dogs in yalls drinking water.

I believe this is a good thing for all parties involved. More prohibited uses, a moratorium on large scale development that Kate Altoff, Kathy Wells and the others have been ranting about and still allow small property owners (who aren't developers) to continue to live and be good stewards of the land as they have since before the lake was built. Add to that an actual study that could be used to determine long range effects and needs for the lake with participation from all affected parties. My question is why didn't they do this from the very beginning?
I have to commend JP Tyler Denton for having the sense to work together with both parties (democrat and republican) instead of choosing sides based on party. As far as JP Blackwood goes, what is unfortunate is that she has been on the Quorum Court as long as she has and is as biased as she is. I guarantee you she doesn't have a clue what is actually in this piece of legislation. She is a "we have to pass it to see what is in it" politician and doesn't work well with others unless it is done her way. Well this is what democracy looks like. Thank you to the other JPs who see the need to do this the right way and not just the fast easy way.
