Arkansas’s first environmental education state park interprets the importance of the natural world and our place within it.
You'll find perhaps the city's finest burgers in this all-night dive. But be prepared to smell like stale cigarette smoke and grease once you're finished.
The picture of dive bar: a concrete floor, Polaroids and beer signs covering just about every inch of wall space, a chandelier made of PBR cans and three pool tables, stained so heavily that if you squint, they look like maps. You come to this slender bar, one of only a handful that have a private club license that allows them to stay open until 5 a.m. and the only one in downtown — from wedding receptions, from concerts, from anywhere that drinks have been served — because you don't want the night to end. You leave after spending most of your time waiting in line for the bathroom and, if you're smart, eating a hamburger (a late-night delicacy), carrying a dank combination of sweat, spilled beer and decades of unventilated cigarette smoke and hamburger grease. And then you do it again the next weekend.

Brave the smoke and strangeness for one of Arkansas' best burgers ($6). The atmosphere may be questionable at times but the griddle is spotless and the cumin-laden burger patties are drool-worthy. The seedless bun is buttered heavily and Romaine lettuce pieces, tomato, hamburger dills and white onion ringlets come standard. Don't get fancy, just order yours with everything and pick off what you don't want. Side items are truly superfluous.
This all-night club — the only one in downtown Little Rock — is the end of a funnel of nights spent out all over town. It hosts blues, rock and jam band music at 12:30 a.m. Fri.-Sat., plus occasional midnight shows midweek. $5 cover charge above private-club membership fee when there's music. Open daily at 3 p.m. for pool and other games, plus bar and grill. 21 and up. Smoking allowed.
