April 22-23, beginning at 8:15 a.m. Saturday
Turner Classic Movies (Comcast Ch. 30)

n If you love the “Godfather” films, Turner Classic Movies is about to make you an offer you can’t refuse: a whole weekend of nonstop, 24-hour “Godfather” — all the hits, misses, cannoli, kisses and killings of the greatest gangster film (and maybe, depending on who you talk to, the greatest film, period) of all time. Featured will be no fewer than 11 opportunities to get your “Godfather” fix, with the full trilogy being shown five times in a row, in order. The only respite will be a rare, hour-long chat with filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola, set to air at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 23. I know it’s for you, Vito. Don’t break my heart.

7 p.m. Wednesday, April 26
The History Channel (Comcast Ch. 70)
n Though we take the humble brick and the mortar that holds it together with others as a fact of life these days, the truth is, humanity wouldn’t be nearly as far along as we are without them. While bricks predate written history, concrete was invented by the ancient Romans, who used the material in everything from temples to aqueducts. These days, concrete and bricks are still the — for lack of a better word — building blocks of society, helping modern designers push the envelope of what we call homes, bridges and office buildings. Tag along as The History Channel visits the Great Wall of China, New York skyscrapers, the Hoover Dam and other structures in this two-hour special.

7 p.m. Wednesday, April 26
AETN (Comcast Ch. 3, Broadcast Ch. 2)
n Being a dedicated carnivore, pretty much the only time I would call a cow beautiful is when some hideously expensive bit of it is dripping grease onto my plate alongside a baked potato and a sprig of parsley. For some people, however, the cow is a beautiful animal, with a grace, poise and charm all its own. Which brings us to the annual Fryeburg Fair. A New England institution, the Fryeburg Fair has long been home to America’s foremost cow beauty contest, with bovine participants being graded on form, facial features, color, patterns and temperament. Here, the good folks from PBS tag along for every second of the action as the country’s most beautiful young heifers go for the crown.
