What's Cookin', Dec. 16

Papa Sushi, the new restaurant in the space that formerly housed Koto, is scheduled to hold a soft opening this weekend and begin regular hours Monday, Dec. 20. Chan J. Park, a 30-year restaurant vet with experience in French, Chinese and Japanese cuisine, is the owner. He moved to Little Rock four years ago to work at Crazy Hibachi in North Little Rock.

Papa Sushi, he said, will feature "high-end hibachi," with Angus beef, free-range chicken and fresh sushi options. Also on the menu: Asian fusion dishes and sushi, made with fish flown in from Alaska and Hawaii and Korean specials. Additionally, there'll be desserts made in-house by a pastry chef and special coffees. The address is 17200 Chenal Parkway, and there are two easy-to-remember phone number options, both of which go to the restaurant, 821-PAPA (7272) and 821-FISH (3474). The hours are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on weekdays and Sunday, with the same hours except for a 10:30 p.m. closing time on Friday and Saturday.
