What's Cooking, Sept. 3

A couple big food events to pencil in on your calendar: First, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, the North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce hosts its 16th annual Taste of the Town in Verizon Arena. Participating vendors include restaurants from both sides of the river like Cafe La Pace, Cantina Laredo, Lindsey's BBQ, Starving Artist Cafe, Ump's and a number of beverage distributors. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door and are available at the NLR Chamber office. Call 372-5959 for more info.

On Friday, September 25, a number of restaurants across the state, including Boulevard in the Heights, Corky's and ZaZa in Central Arkansas, will donate a portion of their sales to the Arkansas Prostate Cancer Foundation, in what the nonprofit is calling Dining for Dudes. For a complete list of participating restaurants, go to arprostatecancer.org.
