A good day for Fred Phelps

The nut from Kansas gets national attention in NY Times for coming federal legislation targeting his funeral protests.

Comments

Phelps and his ilk are the lowest of the low. Scums of society and do not represent God in any way. With all freedoms come an equal responsibility to society. They fail to meet that test!

Now I don't want to hear how the recent spate of state laws prohibiting funeral protests plays right into the hands of the sociopaths from Topeka. The Phelps clan has been milking publicity for twenty years, nothing new there. Yet after all the notice paid to the religio-lawyer inbreds, their flailing flock still relies on live births to sustain the membership. Since when do we not pass laws or not cover a story in hopes the scourge will go away?

THANKS. FIXED.

Uhhh....

Didn't a bunch of folks, including Max, just get through trashing Paul Suskie and Jeff Wood for standing up to this dipshit a few months ago?

How does this play into Max's conerns about Phelps free speech rights?

ARK. BLOG: Stil have them and submit this article as evidence about the efficacy of passing laws to curb every irritant that ambles down the sidewalk.

As long as the extremist literalist only attacked the blacks, women, gays & liberals (people who can't or won't fight back) there were no laws passed against them. But like the Salem Witch Trials; time & arrogance eventually catches up with you.

"The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher esteem those who think alike than those who think differently." Friedrich Nietzsche, The Dawn, Sec. 297

What is WITH these right wingers and their obsession with gays?

Strange...
