Noble out at KTHV?
The Arkansas TV News blog is reporting that KTHV weekend anchor Win Noble was dismissed from his position over the weekend because of his personal blog and some after-hours bar fighting.
Was the fight against a rival station? Who won?

Comments
That would really suck. Win is a great guy and a good anchor. Fight 'em Win! We got your back!

Word is he has been involved in several recent fights at bars.
Several fights? One, maybe, but several? Yes, I'd say there's a problem there.

Bout time...worthless waste of air. Still don't see why KTHV thought he was talented when he was the traffic reporter; doesn't take much to read a line about how traffic is backed up on I-30 at the Saline County line.

I don't know how to put this but I'm kind of a big deal . . . people know me. . . . I'm very important . . . . . .I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany. . . . did I ever tell you about the time BJ Sams and I did Jager shots and then shared two of the on-air girls on his round bed? Well . . . stay classy, Little Rock.

His blog was up earlier.
If I read it correctly, he said himself he was gone.
I think if every media person got ran off from their job for drinking and running around, then not many people would be working in the media biz.
That being said, he should also realize that he is a public figure and he probably shouldn't have a blog that talks about his drinking escapades.
From what I could tell, though, it wasn't like he got arrested or anything. Just talked about stuff on his blog.
At least he has a good looking GF, maybe she can support him.

Dang, I have spent the last hour reading all this news plus his blog and I am shocked! he looks like such a "good boy"...I guess you really can't judge a book by it's cover! Win, shame on you for saying all that nasty stuff when you are in the public eye!!
Posted by: Donna | April 24, 2006 01:48 PM
I don't know the WN was all that "bad" ... His rock-n-roll persona/ego, I think, got him a bit overheated and he ranted on some things he shouldn't have. With a job like that you gotta be a bit more circumspect in these matters. He's been in the band a good long while and it seems that his troubles have hit only in the past couple of weeks with some poorly chosen words and maybe one or three much-too-drunk nights. It's not the partying alone that got him. The people on his blog who are touting his First Amendment rights and encouraging him to sue ... they intend well ... but they're being knuckleheads.

I've always thought Win was a nice guy, and I'm sorry he's going through a tough time in his life.

Well, apparently barroom brawling and juvenile blog posting are at least a little more socially acceptable than getting busted for solicitation in Burns Park between newscasts. There was no second chance for that dude.
Posted by: dogtownius | April 24, 2006 04:28 PM
I know Win Noble and I know Win Noble's family. All I can say is while I don't agree with his actions we all find ourselves at some point in our life in a difficult place. Win needs to take some time, get himself together, and come back. Personally, I wish this was not a post, but I for one am proud to call the Noble family friends. They will be in my prayers, as will Win.

Glad, Loser Noble is gone. He sucked arse.
He was quite the loser.
He thought he was a big fish in a little pond, but he was really just a guppy.
It's creepy that someone his age was on myspace.
Posted by: nahnahnahnahheyheygoodbye | April 24, 2006 04:32 PM
I don't think his blog proves him to be a bad person at all, BUT he is/was a news anchor. You cannot have a blog, saying the things he said. You cannot be getting in drunken bar fights. That's just common sense. Most jobs you are OK, but as a newsanchor, no.
BTW, a blog saying bad things about people you work with, even if you don't name a specific person will get a lot of people fired. I've seen it happen a couple of times. If you are going to have a blog complaining about your workplace, at least have enough commonsense NOT to use your real name!

Another thread hijacked by Drew Pritt!!!
Posted by: Aaarrrrgh!!! | April 24, 2006 04:55 PM
Could someone explain to me why everyone is being so goddamned self-righteous? Even Drew Pritt says he doesn't agree with his actions and he's a straight man that lies about being gay. If this isn't hypocrisy at it's worst, I don't know what is. I'm friends with the family and I'm not about to follow it up with a caveat or a qualifier. C'mon folks...so Win can get a little rowdy sometimes. I know I've been guilty of that on numerous occasions...big deal. I know I've closed down a couple of bars...that's nothing terrible. Give the guy a break. He hasn't done anything...ANYTHING...that 95% of the population hasn't done at one point or another. So, why don't you get off your pedestals, shut the hell up, and mind your own damned business, which I'm sure is riddled with a hell of a lot worse things that Win's.
Posted by: let's be decent about this, folks | April 24, 2006 05:00 PM
Hey I could care less what he does. Hell I have done worse than he does.
However I am not a "public figure" and what I do reflects on no one but me. What he does reflects on Todays THV, and if he is acting like a Frat boy, and then trying to anchor the news and convey some form of repectibility, then what he does is a lot more relevant than what you or I do.
They guy had some fun, and good for him. However that fun cost him his job.
I can see what KTHV did what they did, and if you can't see why they did it then you are an idiot.

The problem with blogs is inherent right here with this discussion. This is a very tough situation. Yet a group of people get on here like two old women at the fence post gossiping.
Its even more hillarious when I get accused of being straight and lying about being gay. Theres no lies, it's called BISEXUAL. There are quite a few people who fall into that category you moron!
All it seems is a lack of good discussion anymore on these blogs. Its put downs, gossip, lies, and whatever negative things that yellow-bellied scared and uptight people don't have the balls to say to someone's face so they get their jollies by coming on MaxWick's Pandora's Box and gossip like a bunch of old women.
Heres a tip - It's none of your business. Short of offering support or prayers, back off, shut up, sit down, because no one cares to know what you and your dime store psychoanalysis has to say about everything.

Drew, what the hell is wrong with you. For the love of Christ, shut up. Why do you have to stick your nose in every conversation that comes along? I was the one that wrote the stuff about you being straight. It seems as though you are familiar with "dime store psychoanalysis." Frankly, I'm not surprised in the slightest that you are familiar with any type of psychoanalysis. Thank God for that.
You are no longer running for Lt. Governor. No one cared about your opinion when you were and they certainly don't now that you have been relegated to the anonymity that you so rightly deserve.
I read this blog all the time and have always kept my mouth shut about your stupid rants, but I've had enough, dammit. (By the way, it galls the hell out of me that you're telling anyone else to "sit down and shut up.") You are a strange little man with odd features. While this alone does not make you utterly repulsive, your personality does. So please, please, please shut the hell up. For the love of God, shut your foul, self-important, bile-spewing mouth up.
***Sorry folks. The rant was necessary. I really do feel better, now.***

Whoever you are, YOU do not care for my opinions. But you do not speak for everyone else. And no, I will not shut up. This is a blog....dumbass.
You see a blog such as this has different subjects. People come here and carry on conversations and express their opinions. However some people think they get to make this their own private fiefdom such as you wish and keep others out.
No I am not going to shut up. I don't care what sexual orientation you think I am since you are obviously a self-involved egotist. Also, come back with something more substantial and intelligent than reversing the ideas I have expressed.
Also, since I know Win and his family, and I was sick of the attacks on him and my family, I expressed my opinion. Who the hell died and made you king anyways you blowhard!

Brick Tamland: Yeah, there were horses, and a man on fire, and I killed a guy with a trident!
Ron Burgundy: Brick, I've been meaning to talk to you about that. You should find yourself a safehouse or a relative close by. Lay low for a while, because you're probably wanted for murder.

Oh, and Win, you did have a really good thing going there at THV, with your fresh, young face and country-boy guilelessness. Sure, you have *some* free time, but staying out of trouble is something everyone should try to do, not least someone in the public eye.
You ain't no Kobe Bryant or Barry Bonds yet, still less a Ted Kennedy. And despite your age, you ain't no grown-up yet, either. Make your choices, kid, cause you have to live with them. Good luck.

I didn't know that working in television news required so-called 'morality' clauses in one's employment contract. I guess it makes sense...given American's current schizophrenic culture that values appearances above all else. That mindset combined with the maxim that 'winning' is everything regardless of how it's achieved makes this Noble stuff sad, ridiculous and hypocritical. I haven't been to the site, but if all he did was hang out at bars acting rowdy and demonstrate poor judgment by hanging with teens on myspace, firing seems harsh...kind of like trying to impeach a prez 'cause he had a consensual affair. My gosh every one knows that making money, not setting high ethical standards, is the driving force behind most local TV. Most businesses, nonetheless, have the right to hire/fire at will and learning to keep your mouth appropriately shut is part of keeping a job.
That said, Drew Pitt telling people to shut up about Noble unless they have something positive to say is silly, non-productive and arrogant. It's a blog, for gosh sakes; and talking about people/issues in the news (good, bad and everything in between) is kind what it's all about. Further, most adults don't cotton to being told to shut up.
Unless you're a hypocritical public official, I don't understand how one's sexual preferences matter (as long as they're mostly legal, of course...I only say that because of some of the archaic sodomy laws still on the books). I do understand that when people resort to petty, personal attacks on blogs it usually means they have little substantive to say.

Let me "OUT" a trouble source now. The person who signs their name "Suzie" is not from Arkansas.
Its a long and sordid tale but basically I use to post data at a website called "Our Campaigns." Its a website filled with a bunch of young people wannabes. It used to have others who made the site enjoyable but most left. Anyways, I was posting data using a faulty source and it completely messed up the data of the site. The site owner tried to remove me from his site even though it became a bacterial infested area of gossip and lies. I finally came back there because I was tired of the lies.
The poster who goes by "Suzie" has a "TELL". He always refers to me as Pitt, not Pritt. He thinks its cute and thinks he can get away with the lies. Not anymore, because when you picked a fight with me, it was nasty and dirty but confined to us.
Now you as an outsider come on here and accuse me of stuff when you don't live here, know the people, and really just are joining in an online witch hunt.
Oh btw....bring it on about the "lies" of something with YD Money at SAU. I know who you are as well you little punk.
This thread has NOTHING to do with politics or anything of concern to anyone. Warwick & Max you never should have started it. Should we hire an agent to tail you around the streets of San Francisco Max? How about you, Warwick? Want a private investigator snooping into your life?
This is NOT news. This is gossip, like most the other threads, and all you have done is become a back channel to breed more discontent, lies, and any sort of filth that a news source with a reputation of decency wouldn't touch.
As asked and spoken again late, from the McCarthy era, I ask you MaxWick....
"HAVE YOU NO DECENCY, SIR? AT LONG LAST, HAVE YOU LEFT NO SENSE OF DECENCY?"
Posted by: Drew Pritt | April 25, 2006 12:10 PM
Hey...wait a minute. I'm definitely suzie who's been posting on the blog (though that's not my real name). I grew up in Arkansas and last time I checked I was a female, mother of one and wife for 30+ years (more info than you deserve but...I have nothing to hide).
Dang Drew...are you paranoid or what? I donâ?Tt know you from Adam; I only know your words.
Oh yeah, I've kept my blog commenting completely within the state.

You Sir need to get a life, Mr. Pit...par·a·noi·a
1.)A psychotic disorder characterized by delusions of persecution with or without grandeur, often strenuously defended with apparent logic and reason.
2.)Extreme, irrational distrust of others.
I don't know Mr. Pitt, after reading a few of his post on this blog there's no way in hell I could vote for such a man.
Posted by: bsteel | April 25, 2006 12:35 PM

Its not paranoia, "bsteel" and "Suzie". You can say you are the Queen of Sheba for all I care. You got caught and caught convincingly. No one refers to me as Drew Pitt and repeatedly.
MaxWick I ask that you hold them accountable since you promised to stop this sort of thing. I am willing to bet they have the same I.P. address or similar at least.

Drew's posts are even funnier if you read them out loud in a high falsetto like a third-grade girl. Max, Warwick, somebody needs to call timeout, stop the game, and kiss Drew's ouchie.
And just out of curiosity, Drew . . . what DID happen with all that YD money? That story seems to follow you like a stench.
Posted by: dogtownius | April 25, 2006 05:02 PM
Sheesh, you're pitiful and waay too thin-skinned and paranoid to be posting on blogs...much less be in politics.
You can call on whomever you want, Drew, it still won't change the fact that I'm not the character who's haunting you and I am who I claim to be (actually some one who did an internship at the Times...so hey Max).
There's obviously more than one reason why you elicit some of the crap that you do on this blog.

Mr. Pitt,
Were you really running for political office? Seriously? If you can't handle yourself any better on a lowly internet blog, God knows how you would handle REAL politicians. They would tear you a new one (which might be a convenience for you).
As for Win Noble,
That knucklehead needs to think about the company he represented when he makes immature and vulgar statements. Not to mention his political minded mother. When you have a website where people are posting racial slurs that doesn't help the campaign too much. Noble comes across like the spoiled rich kid who has had everything handed to him in life and doesn't think the rules apply to him. What does an untalented, out of work punk ass rich kid do now? Simple, move back home! Way to go Chief!
Posted by: Pike | April 26, 2006 04:29 PM
I quite frankly think that what he said is scary! He was quoted in his blog saying that if you don't like your co-worker, follow them home then tell them "now I know where you live." Then, the next day you will be standing over them in their pool of blood laughing.>> Seriously? Joke or no joke that is pretty freaky.

This is retardo. I mean does everyone expect their CPA to on the job 24/7? I mean our Govenor isn't even on the job 24/7. I have been around quite a few of the local news talent in Little Rock over the years and Win hasn't done anything near as ethically questionable as some of his predecessors. I mean I didn't see one thing about cocaine, strippers, a DUI or urinating in a sink. Now posting some of that online wasn't the brightest idea, but I don't really think he should be fired over it. This just goes to show you should never post anything online you think will get you in trouble, there are no First Amendment rights in cyberspace.
This is the wrong market not to be a 3 kid, "church fearin", home by 7 anchor, even though most of the people who are up in arms about this do or have done all the same stuff. If he were doing this on air, I could see the point. But off the air, he isn't influencing your kids and doesn't represent KTHV anymore than Booby Behind Closed Doors Beer Drinker represents the car dealership or the dentist office they work at.
As for the attacks on his talent, you've got to be kidding, the entire Channel 4 news team needs a remedial class in broadcasting and the morning show should be put out of its misery. I'm not even going into Fox's circus of stars at 9pm.
And lots of people over 25 have myspace accounts, that's how they have those 40 million people on line.
I hope Win moves on to greener pastures, judging the Sally Rotten Crotch pageant in Rosebud gets old after awhile.
Posted by: This is retarded | April 28, 2006 10:19 AM
There are 1st amendment rights in cyberspace. There are also rights (and contracts) for a business that does not want to associate itself with someone displaying the behavior, not just on the internet but in public, that this kid has. And no, we haven't all talked about killing people in blogs or get in bar fights on the weekend. If we did we would probably lose our jobs too.
AS for his talent, agreed about the other stations, but have you watched this guy on the weekends? He stinks!
Its cool that your his freind, but at least bring a stronger argument.

Anyone in the public eye and especially those who have signed an agreement should know better than posting some of the things Win posted on his blog. Those in the public eye have children that they set an example for just like President Clinton. I'm embarrassed that he came from my state. It might have been consensual for the President but he has a duty to his country to set a good example. Steamed!
