Trouble in the woods for Dubya

This short posting at buzzflash has been circulating around since yesterday. We can't vouch for its authenticity, but it at least rings true:

Steak Night at the Deer Camp - A South Arkansas Message to George W.
by John R. Bomar

Hey George, I hate to have tell you this, son, but they’re talking bad about you out at the deer camp. That’s real bad. When you’ve lost the deer-camp-boys you’re in big trouble around here.

You see, these are the real good ol’ boys, the ones who make up the backbone in this part of the woods. They’re the ones who build the houses, sell the insurance, install the plumbing and fix your air conditioner when it goes on the blink. They’re just regular, hard working Joe’s trying to make life a little better and get ahead. And up to now they’ve done pretty good. Many of them own their own businesses and are members of the chamber and pay a lot of taxes – a lot of taxes. And a whole bunch of them read the papers and keep up with what’s going on in the world.

George, they’re a calling you a liar. Yep, they are. And if it’s one thing they don’t cotton to, it’s a liar, George. They know liars; they’ve had liars for employees and dealt with liars in trying to do businesses. “Cain’t’ trust a liar” just about sums it up around here, George.

Now, if you’re a known liar we’d give you a nod in passing, but we wouldn’t stop to talk. We’d try to be sociable enough if forced to be around you, but we’d leave as soon as possible. Out at the deer camp we’d mostly try and leave you out of the conversation, but if your name came up we’d all give each other that look that says; “yea, we know about dealin’ with him.”

That’s bad George. Real bad … real hard to get over around here, George.

I guess it’s partly cause we come from pioneer stock. Most of our people moved here from Tennessee and Alabama, and before that Georgia and the Carolinas and some from Virginia. We come from a long line of survivors, George. Only the survivors got this far. They survived by their wits and hard, honest work, with a little luck thrown in. Excuse’ me for saying so, but they also learnt’ real early how to separate the chicken salad from the chicken s****, George. They watched out for what people did rather than pay too much attention to what they said. Their Grandpas taught em’ that.

And, oh yea, these ol’ boys, they really don’t like being played for a fool when they’ve kindly given you the benefit of the doubt. On a scale of one to ten George, that’s a ten.

Yep, deer-camp-boys are proud of their roots and try and hold on to the old ways, as much as they can nowadays. They know the understanding and teachings of their Grannies come hard learned. They’re hardscrabble folk, George, and they judge a man by his handshake, the honesty in his eye and the sincerity in his voice. They’re nice enough when you first meet, that’s the way their Mama’s raised them, but they don’t really take you in till you’ve proved yourself. You know that puddin’ George, its proof tells the tale.

Well, guess that’s about it, friend. Just thought I’d pass this along in case you was interested. Cause when you lose the deer-camp-boys around here, George, there ain’t much left.

This is stupid. why is this "newsworthy"?

"Ummm, the Homeland Security color for today is yellow, but it could possibly TURN TO RED. Also, the other guys want to raise taxes. Ummm, let's see...what's that Karl? Right. Gays want to join your deer camp."

Yeah, and besides that, I heard Bush was for gun control.

The reason the blog thinks it is newsworthy is because it attacks Bush.

And anything at all that is negative against Bush gets posted here. It does not matter if it is true or not, it gets posted because the people who read this blog get all giddy anytime there is something new against Bush.

He He ....MAX ,been that way for a while around our dinner table on sundays. its not just in the deer camp's.

I have my own Bush comment. I read that the recent jump in crude oil prices to their highest level in history is not due to any increase in demand or shortage of supply. It's due to fears over Bush's saber rattling against Iran. Now, who benefits from this unnecessary jump in prices? Those selling crude oil, of course. They are reaping windfall profits. They know there's not going to be any Iran war.

I say Bush is purposely creating unrest to drive oil prices up so it puts more money into the pockets of his oil industry friends and Saudi business partners.

I do so wish getalife would post fuller, more thought provoking comments. The brevity of your posts implies ADD might be a proper diagnosis.

American is always right! It might take us an excruciating long time to start turning the ship of state away from the oncoming iceberg, but in the end we always come around. And that is what we're seeing now when it comes to Bush-Cheney.

The deer hunters and the NASCAR dads are waking up and seeing what a bunch of fools GWB has made of them all. Piss off a librarian and you might live to see tomorrow, but piss off the good ole boys....and ya better run for the hills.

It just might be the good ole boys who storm the White House and drag President Retard out the front door and off to his well deserved jail cell. Mellon squeezers like me usually lack the guts to find the shotgun and go after the bad guys. Just a few hours of watching old Bonanza reruns with Ma tells me it was always the deer hunters Joe Cartwright gathered up to chase the bad guys. Oh lord, you don't want them guys after ya....woo!

President Cheney is good at putting off judgment day, you got to give him that. It appears that we're going to have to wait until there are only 7 or 8 Bush supporters left in America before anything comes about that might rid us of the current White House garbage. As bad as I hate waiting and as deadly as it is for our soldiers in Iraq, it will be a sweet day when it happens.

I'm just thankful the good old boys have seen the light. MMMMMMMM Bush.....you in trouble now!

Patrick, with a complete lack of any real evidence that Saddam had any WMD I didn't think we would actually go to war; I passed it off as just saber rattling to get Saddam to permit the inspectors more access. Was I wrong then...and I hope you are right now but with Cheney Rovebush at the throttle and his approval in the dumps, I wouldn't be surprised at a full-fledged bombing campaign in Iran in a few months (just before the election).

This is stupid. why is this "newsworthy"?

Do you even know what a blog is? Look it up.

I wouldn't be surprised at a full-fledged bombing campaign in Iran in a few months Posted by: esscurve234

It would surprise me. I think a lot as changed since the invasion of Iraq. I don't think the people or their Congress would stand for starting anything new.

I sure hope I'm right!

Last night Charlie Rose's program had a segment with Tom Friedman and James Fallows. If you didn't see it, you can watch it over the net for 99cents. It's well worth the money,

http://www.charlierose.com/

I seem to recall alot of those deer-camp boys voting for Clinton. I notice Mr. Bomar is from Arkadelphia. They keep sending Percy Malone to the Senate. I don't think Mr. Bomar is nearly as troubled by liars as he says he is.

"Caint trust a liar just about sums it up around here, George""

How profound but then again it comes from the mouth of a guy that "takes out" Bambi with a high powered rifle. This punk could pass for Bush's brother.

My guess: no millitary service, no teeth and no high school diploma. Probably drinks Ole' Mill as well.

These inane comments explain this comment Bush made in 2000 campaign to a group of recovering addicts in Iowa:

?I?m on a Walk just like you. It is a never ending Walk as far as I?m concerned.

Is anyone treating him?

President Bush gave everyone in the deer camp a lot of nice tax cuts in the last six years and nothing else matters. A Democrat will raise your taxes and a Republican will cut them. That's all that should matter. Also, let's keep the faith that we will eventually get rid of Comrad Snyder.

Is anyone in charge of this Waffle House?am puzzled as to why Bush makes so many trips to speak before his "choir".

He is selling? What? To Whom? Who will buy?

His customers already have bought everything he is selling.

Is it ego massage?

Is it Reagan like Photo-ops? No. Not many pics are published.

Is it Press? No. Not much print on them.

Why is he away from the White House what seems like 4 of 5 work days?

I am certain he gets on the nerves of Cheney and Rumsfeld. They are very intelligent. They are very experienced. They have been Inside the White House for 23 of past 35 years. They have worked with very intelligent people.

They cannot tolerate Incompetence.

Is it Cheney sending a Puppet away to keep him out of the loop.

Bush said in 1999 "I need a War to be a successful President" Cheney said "I need that Oil" in 1992 Report to Bush I.

Did Cheney say in 2000 "Halleluiah! I have my Puppet. I will get my Oil".

Perhaps a great story for a reporter. I feel it.

Please call me a Tax & Spend Liberal. A proud label

TAX & SPEND LIBERAL WHO PAYS HIS WAY

From G. Washington to Reagan we ended with less than 1,000 Billion in Debt.

The next 12 years of Spend & Borrow Conservatism added on over 3,000 Billion.

Bush 2006 Budget-Five Year Forecast-Historical Tables-Pages 116-117 reveals that he will add on 3759 Billion.

This is Gang who screamed-

CUT GOVERNMENT--BALANCE THE BUDGET-TAX CUTS PAY THEIR WAY

Swinney Fact Check-----

CUT GOVERNMENT---

Reagan yelled this more than any President.-His record-He INCREASED the size of government more than any predecessor.

He INCREASED spending by 80%

p.s. He increased California spending by 112%. This is a Conservative?

TAX CUTS PAY THEIRWAY.----

Reagan cut Income taxes by 750 Billion. He borrowed 1700 Billion to pay for it.

He increased Income Tax Revenues by 140 Billion. Wee bit short of 750 Billion.

Bush cut income taxes by 1700 Billion and will borrow 3759 Billion top pay for it.

Anyone care to wager it will not be 5,000 Billion?

Democrats use sensible fiscal polices which SPEND but TAX to Pay Their Way.

Republicans use selfish fiscal policies which SPEND but BORROW to let the kids pay tomorrow.

Which party do you want handling your money?

Wow, another example of the blind loyalty of the 20%'rs. I don't know what deer camp Rick goes to, but that rings hollow of the ones my Repub buddies go to. I think mainly these guys went along with Bush because they thought he would be tough on national security. But watching current events thru any media outlet, minus Fox, it's hard to find anything that "feels good." It speaks volumes for the 20%'rs who don't mind being lied to. Personally, I find it offensive. Defend Bush however you want...or can for that matter. I don't need any historian to tell me we are in deep poo-poo, and have, at the very least, an incompetent at the wheel...

Oh how nice a tax cut from the little King....just dont look at the bill ( deficits) lhe kids have to pay or the wars they have to fight because of this lying bozo.. I guess that is what they mean when they say "family values"

"I do so wish getalife would post fuller, more thought provoking comments. The brevity of your posts implies ADD might be a proper diagnosis."

DickbyInches, the LENGTH of your posts implies diarrhea of the brain and mouth. GET A LIFE and a job.

"getalife"

You give the impression of being a Bush supporter. Please give your reasons for your support. Which of Bush's policies do you agree with? Help us understand the qualities you see in Bush so the eyes of those who don't care for him will be opened to what a great president he really is.

Tax Cuts?????

Tax Cuts????

My 10 year old daughter's share of the national debt is over $20,000, and you call that a tax cut????

So Bush has lost favor with a few Southern Blue Dogs. Big deal...he isn't running for anything. Still doesn't change the fact that when the next Presidential election rolls around, we're still going to have a conservative running agaisnt a liberal, and this country is not going to elect a liberal. And a less favorable opinion about the current President doesn't mean that given the same choice all over again, most of the conservatives who voted for him the first time wouldn't do it again, if the alternative were still John Kerry.

The deer camp boys took a while to wake up 'causin their grandmothers told 'em to give people in charge the benefit of the doubt, etc. They are trustworthy, and want to believe in the honesty and integrity of people.

Now that they know the Bush adminstration are nothing but a bunch of war profiteering cockroaches, you can kiss their support goodbye.

Of course, many of us out here knew these people were scumbags from day 1.

Glad to see America finely awaking from her hibernation. I'd hate to be a dittohead these days, having to wake up to a nightmare.

Better luck next time suckers.

New Fox News poll has Chimpy at a new low 33% approval!!!

FOX NEWS????

yep, Fox News.

Would that it were true. It was the deer campers and the NASCAR dads and the trolls who live under the blog bridges who failed to see in the first four years what was as obvious to the rest of us as a dog turd on a dinner plate.

They may be losing some of the thinking-man's Bubbas (not oxymoronic), but the lyin', spyin', homicidin' gang of thugs with crude on their breath still has a long time to practice their dark arts, but it's gwine take a Herculean effort by Rove to keep Congress in GOP hands lest there finally be an accounting for their sins.

I mean, that's the whole motivation for the "shakeup" at the White House - giving Karl the Konfuser free rein to muddle the electorate.

"Arkadelphia, Arkansas is his [Bomar's] home town, where he practices complimentary and alternative medicine."

Hey, Blog, why not put the byline info from the article in your post? "Complementary and alternatitive medicine"? Doesn't sound too authoritative or ethical. Is he Doctor Bomar? And how "deer-camp" does that really sound?

Looks like Herr Karl Rove is going to be facing multiple criminal indictments for his role in the outing a CIA agent (an act of Treason by the way)

Story at Truthout.org.

Looks like those good old boys were on the money.

Cheney will be indicted following Rove and Bush will resign after that.

The only way out now for the facist GOP is to start bombing Iran and tell the biggest lies they can dream up and hope for the best.

Finally, the Bush administration is going down. Thank you God - we need our country back ASAP.

Here's the story:

"...The grand jury session in federal court in Washington, DC, sources close to the case said, was the first time this year that Fitzgerald told the jurors that he would soon present them with a list of criminal charges he intends to file against Rove in hopes of having the grand jury return a multi-count indictment against Rove..."

Karl Rove facing multiple criminal counts in upcoming indictments

You dittoheads better go find you a nice hole to crawl in; your'e time in the sun is about up.

Good ol' boy hunters to GWB: "Dub, I wish I could quit you."

That's some dumb shit.

"Looks like Herr Karl Rove is going to be facing multiple criminal indictments for his role in the outing a CIA agent (an act of Treason by the way)"

Couldn't happen to a more deserving person...well, actually, there are at least two more...

Boy, Google is a wonderful thing. Seems this Bomar fellow *is* a doctor - a chiropractor. Seems he is also an Internet gadfly who has written articles supportive of Chavez in Venezuela and of lifting the Cuban embargo. He even has an artilce published on an Arabic web site where he compares Bush to Napoleon Bonaparte. He also turns up alot in legal matters concerning workers comp.

Yeah, real south-Arkansas conservatve deer hunter. Bu!!$hit

Come on, Blog. Even you guys are above this...

I know John Bomar. He is a local chiropractor here in town, and is also the local nut case. I would not believe a single thing out of his mouth. I doubt that man has ever held a rife, or a shotgun, much less ever been to a deer camp.

...Internet gadfly...

I guess all of us here are Internet gadflies.

...who has written articles supportive of...lifting the Cuban embargo...

I'm sure for that one too. Silliest thing I've ever heard of. Trade like hell with China, but cut Cuba off for 60 years? Doesn't make a bit of sense.

He even has an artilce published on an Arabic web site where he compares Bush to Napoleon Bonaparte.

Well, we all know there's no comparison there. Bonaparte was a great general. Bush is about as far from that as I can imagine.

Re Bomar

Is he kin to that millionaire publisher guy that funded the Clinton snipe hunt that led to Paula/Monica/Osama?

Please don't disrupt the fantasy they've established here. Don't you know the denziens of this blog get their jollies as they view anti-Bush vitriol? It's like those fake nudie pictures of Jennifer Anniston. Who cares if its real...

I have no idea who John Bomar is and don't care. Whoever he is he's right about the deer camp boys, they've finally come around. Bomar is right about Cuba, even Clinton was wrong about that. And trust me, Mr. Bomar is a gentleman of the old school if the worse thing he can say about Bush is to compare him to Napoleon.

I see President Bush as being more or less equal in intelligence, as moral as and a valuable to the US as.....the giant stinking pile my large lab just left in the side yard.

The remaining Bush supporters will dumbly follow him into hell and will have the rest of time to contemplate how incredibly wrong they've been these last 5 years. Be sure and keep those W stickers on your cars so we'll know who to avoid in the future. Nowadays Loser starts with a W.

LAJ: "I seem to recall alot of those deer-camp boys voting for Clinton. ... I don't think Mr. Bomar is nearly as troubled by liars as he says he is."

Ah, so we're back to "It's all Bill Clinton's fault" again.

Thousands of Americans have lost their lives unnecessarily over the past 5-1/2 years because of President George W. Bush's duplicity, neglect and incompetence. Nobody died because because of Bill Clinton's fib about an extra-marital sexual dalliance.

At the Hawaii Legislature yesterday, the families of the 170 military personnel from the islands who've died in Iraq were honored for their sacrifice, as their loved ones were each posthumously given the state's highest award for valor.

Meanwhile, your beloved Fearless Leader doesn't even have the courage to meet with Cindy Sheehan, a grieving and soft-spoken mother who's trying to make sense out of the loss of her son in Iraq. Instead, he directs his political surrogates to question her patriotism and sanity.

The president, sir, is both a coward and a God-damned liar -- and you are an ignorant fool for supporting him.

"The president, sir, is both a coward and a God-damned liar -- and you are an ignorant fool for supporting him."

You're correct on both counts!

It's a shame y'all didn't spot him before voting...

Why did it take so long for the "good ol' boys" the figure out that Bush and all Republicans have been playing them for fools for the past 20 to 30 years? Bush and the other Republican politicians figured out that all they had to do was appeal to the hate, fear, homophobia, raisin' taxes, and ignorance of single issue voters to win them over and it's worked for all these years.
Once the Republicans took power appealing to single issue voters they kissed up to corporate America, gave billions of dollars to the insurance industry, oil companies, drug companies and tax breaks to millionaires. While they looted the treasury with handouts to those groups, the good ol' boys families struggled to get by on low wages, no health insurance, no retirement benefits other than social security, and now the Republicans are wanting to take away the social security by privatizing it so wall street bankers can get richer.
Watch how many Republican politicians use the "raisin' taxes" campaign issue in November.
I predict the "good ol' boys" will fall for the lies again because they'll only remember that Bill Clinton lied about a fling the same as many of them have. What a bunch of hypocritical fools.

My husband & I live in hunting, fishing country too (rural, smalltown Minnesota) & we have a dealership that sells as many pickups as cars.
For us, tax cuts were a drop in the bucket with rising real estate taxes along with trying to put kids through college with escalating tuition fees.
Those so-called tax cuts mean nothing to us when health care coverage costs for our employees are going through the roof & we have to cut back elsewhere in the business to compensate for that.
Tax cuts don't help our business when the auto industry in shambles...last fall across the country car sales hit rock bottom.
Wouldn't we love to have the opportunity to have overseas tax shelters like 12,000 corps have & pay no business taxes.
Tax cuts don't make the fish we catch (or the food we buy at the supermarket) safe to eat. Tax cuts don't preserve our wildlife habitats so we can keep on hunting & fishing..check out latest Field & Stream articles. Gayle North thought golf courses equaled protecting wetlands. In the pacifc northwest water for salmon spawning was given to corporate farming instead.
Do tax cuts improve our lives when gas prices are killing the trucking industry while Exxon last quarter made $4.9 million an hour profit & ceo's retire with billions in "compensation" & before retiring say things like "we're all in this together"?
Do tax cuts protect our borders, ports? Have tax cuts solved the problem with radio communications between emergency responders that cost so many lives on 911.
Do tax cuts ease the burden on our local hospitals when more families have no health insurance? When I was a kid, there weren't any food shelves in my area & now there are many & struggling to keep up with the increasing numbers of people needing the help. We have new posters every week put up at our business of benefits (I didn't see many of those when I was a kid either) for people trying to pay for catastrophic medical problems due to illness or accidents...many of us have health insurance that we pay a lot for but it won't cover the costs of a long-term, extremely costly medical problem.
I wonder if some families used their tax cuts to pay for better protective gear for their kids serving in Iraq or for building that ramp onto their house for their son or daughter in the wheelchair.
On & on it goes. It's pretty simple: Priorities.

That was Brand X not me. I think Bush is incompetent and an example of the Peter Principal in action

What a wonderfully thoughtful, intelligent post by ironranger. I must say it's refreshing to read something from someone who's actually looked past the simplistic "tax cuts" mantra of the Republicans. Unfortunately so few of the voting public look past the bumper sticker slogans of "I'll cut your taxes".
I'm a 5th generation Floridian who woke up this morning to read in the local paper that the Republican controlled legislature is about to repeal the intangibles tax which affects almost exclusively the very rich. There we go again. Another Bush and a Republican controlled legislature giving tax breaks to the very rich. Another article in the same paper told about reductions in mental health programs for children due to lack of funds.
Both articles are available at :www.news-journalonline.com

Yes, another example of confusion caused by the name of the Poster appearing below the line, rather than above it with the text they posted.

Wow, I di d not realize we were going to run the 2004 election again with another Dem Candidate. All of the above was available to Kerry - and he used it! Most people didn't vote for Kerry, even in Arkansas.

This isn't a "Blog." This is a farce drummed up by kool-aid drinkers so they can spew forth their venom, repeatedly, and pretend that real people care about it.

Heck, I'd rather read about Drew Pritt's latest firebombs than read this 2004 election rerun above.

Soreloserman was a good sport compared to these folks.

Does anyone know if this John Bomar is related to the Bomars from Camden and those parts? knew them years ago. Those are good people.

I used to be a republican, but no more. Defending incompetence is just plain wrong.

Bomar comes off sounding like a cross between Robert Duvall and Wilfred Brimley. No one is this grizzled. His rant is BS.

Patrick, you didn't believe he'd be stupid enough to start another Vietnam in Iraq did you?

Once the Repubs and conservative Democrats pull their heads out. You'll realize the song Rovebush ahs been singing for six years.

It's the Governor's Song from the Best little Whorehouse ing Texas.

"...And now my good friends
You can sleep nights
I'll continue to stand tall
You can trust me
For I promise I shall keep a watchful eye upon y'all

Ooh, I love to dance a little sidestep
Now they see me now they don't I've come and gone
And ooh, I love to sweep around the wide step
Cut a little swath and lead the people on..."

This is rich. Some alternative healer in LA (lower Ark. for all you out of state people) writes a blog like he actually has some connection with Good Ole' Boys and then a bunch of Yankees and out of staters start defending him! Why don't you people accept who you are? Why do you have to pretend so much? Just because you met a Good Ole Boy once doesn't mean you have any idea what they think. I grew up on a farm a farm that I now own in rural Arkansas. I can tell you, I may not be happy with Bush but its not for any reason you lefty types would understand. It has nothing to do with Iraq, what you call lying or anything else. It has a lot to do with him not being conservative enough. Despite the fact that you all think you possess sagacity beyond mortal comprehension and the rest of us are just now coming around to your point of view, you're as wrong now as ever.
The reasons many Good Ole Boys are unhappy with Bush has nothing to do with why you moonbats are unhappy with him. We want him to be more conservative.
But I suspect a herbal healer, a bunch of hillcrest residents, some dude from Hawaii (Ha!) and a few Yankees really know what we good ole boys feel. Thanks for telling me so I've got the facts straight in my head.
I reckon y'all aim to keep me pert near straightened out from now on, huh?

Get any corporate welfare for that farm? Tax breaks, that kind of thing?

If you're really a conservative, you wouldn't accept that government money out of principle.

But then again, I don't expect logical thinking from people who refer to others with different ideas as "moonbats".

Actually, I don't. My family lost the farm in the depression and my grandpa worked to get the thing back. We earned it by blood, sweat and tears and we don't need any government help to keep it running.
You're not a moonbat because you have different ideas, you're a moonbat because you're a nut.

I'm calling you out on that stuff, funny; I guarantee you get, at least, some tax breaks.

I grew up with good ole boys like you...and thank God I now know you are not representative of the average American.

Okay, call me out. It doesn't mean a thing. I know the truth, what good would it do to lie. If I had to lie, why would I have even bothered to respond?
See, this is why your side loses. You think you know everything. I think you really don't know anyone like me. Your friends drive Subaru wagons and drink 5 dollar cups of coffee, mine drive pickup trucks and dip Skoal. I have a single cab pickup, I'm a member of a volunteer fire department and I spent the money I have for a vacation on going turkey hunting in Missouri. That's my vacation this year, no trips to the beach or nothing. I just got in from working cows on the back 40 and will eat a bit of lunch before I head back out.
I put myself through college by working nights at an auto parts factory because my father was a factory worker that couldn't afford to pay for school for me. I may not be representative of your America, but I am representative of the section that makes America work. And gudess what, we ain't all on the government tit. And all the folks that I talk to at the the Mason's fish fry, the county fair or at the sale barn agree with me, not you. So who do you think knows more about good ole' boys?
Again, stop trying to be what you are not.

I try and not respond to other's inferiors, but on occasion must make exception:

The interesting thing about those who resort to name calling and personal viturpation is how seldom they make any attempt at reasoned argument. Hiding behind the anonymity of various brands of unknown origin, they reflect the deep fear and trembling in their souls by the anger and rage that spews forth from its poisonous roots. One can only pray that the deep seated insecurities that spur them may some day be replaced by a faith in things and powers beyond themselves.

John R. Bomar

So, Funny, how is it? Was your father a farmer or a factory worker?

Have you seen this before? It's a number guessing game: http://www.amblesideprimary.com/ambleweb/mentalmaths/guessthenumber.html. I guessed 75106, and it got it right! Pretty neat.
