No one wants their deaths avenged moreso than the chicken hawk war racketeers who are profiting handsomely from our continuing occupation of that hopelessly bloody hellhole. Are those whopping no-bid "defense" contracts that benefit only a relative handful worth another 2,500 dead soldiers? Those Democratic pols who are not in the pockets of the contractors can make themselves known to us with the slogan, "Had enough?", this fall. We can shuck the rest.
Two more families devastated by this immoral war and the Kool-Aid drinkers who've decided their sick obsession with gays/abortion and monkeyboy trumps every other consideration. Stuff like justice, the rule of law and common sense have been so trivialized and side-lined by this crew that the country finds itself living in some kind of Seinfeld Bizzaro world. Every time monkeyboy/Cheney set themselves and their agenda above accountability, they do more damage to our country than all the Osama's combined.
And..of all the horrible things this administration and its enablers have done to this country, their arrogant, screw-the-law-we're-God philosophy is the most damning and dangerous. Before God-spouting monkeyboy, presidents/politicians paid a price when their misdeeds came to light. The only way they got away with their chicanery was if they were able to keep it under the radar, so to speak. But not monkeyboy's gang...the greater their lies/wrongdoing the harder their assault on the very institutions/laws that have protected us from their likes.
They and their enablers make me sick.
I know this sounds horrible, but...if that was my son I'd take comfort in knowing he was no longer suffering. At least in death there would be peace. Imagining all the atrocities that could be befall my baby at the hands of the American-hating thugs would have to be hell on earth.
Zelda, thanks my sentiments exactly.
Did Bush and Co. think that it would not be payback? Iraq is a country where an eye for and eye. For the rightwing, religious, zealous Republicans, if they studied the Bible, for other than gay and same sex marriage, they would know that there will always be conflict in this land. They fight over religion and oil. We can't control another culture.
Reuters reports the bodies show signs of "barbaric torture." That term is usually used to reveal torture with electric drills, which is very common in that hell hole.

With the presidential election more than two years away, a CNN poll released Monday suggests that nearly half of Americans would "definitely not vote for" Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.
..a CNN poll released Monday suggests that nearly half of Americans would "definitely not vote for" Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Amazing! That means that OVER half WOULD vote for her, or at least not rule it out.
Interesting that the report was worded in a negative way, like this was bad news for Hillary.
I'd LOVE to hear that nearly half the population would not vote for me. Nearly half the population voted against George Bush, and look who won that election.
Patrick, it's funny when you liberals accuse neo-cons of drinking kool-aid because it seems that both of you drink your own brands of kool-aid.
The article states that 47% "definitely not vote for her", that does not mean that the other 53% would be voting for her.
In fact later on only 22% said the would definetly vote for her.
I think it is a negative when 47% refuse to even consider you as a choice. 3% plus 1 and she loses.
Those are some tough odds. I think it further illustrates the deep hate (unfounded as it might be) that many americans have against Hillary.
And finally, the report was from CNN and I am sure we can all agree they are anything but anti-Clinton. I think the report was made in a negative way because it is a negative for her.
Way to start a rumor Cato. Glad you offer no proof or anything. Let's see how long it takes that rumor to make it across the nation...
Good gracious...I had no clue the Times' Cato was so powerful. Hey Cato...how 'bout starting this rumor: Bush/Cheney/Rummy to be tried as war criminals.
That 'this' kind of torture is being used by the Iraqi insurgency and elsewhere has already been given widespread coverage by the media. And, Reuters is a more than acceptable news source.
The facts suck, WaytogoCato. If you think Iraq is a fantasy war land like in the movies, you're dead wrong.
Man, I am sick and tired of the rants of the right. "MSM reports no GOOD news coming out of Iraq"...nevermind that it has been widely reported that the military won't release stories of reconstruction efforts because they would become targets...
You know us Americans think we invented everything. We think we're the masters of all. But from what I can tell the people of some Asian countries and everyone in the Middle East does torture and payback much much better than we do.
These 2 poor dead soldiers are just the beginning of the payback we're going to get for the al-Zarqawi festival we had a week or so ago. CNN and Fox and Bush had a field day with the dead body of al-Zarqawi and these 2 soldiers paid for it in ways I don't want to know about. Unfortunately I think their deaths are just the preamble to what is coming, because even after 3 years Bush & Co., do not understand what makes these people tick.
Though they have no respect for life, they have a million rules about death and the US government and the US media broke them all. And now it's payback time. The wingnuts on this blog can scream and cry and carry on, but they're safe. Ain't no one going to torture and kill them.

Glad to see that you guys can read and discuss a point.
Would one of you show me where any news report said they used a drill?
I never said I supported the war or us being there.
What I said was that we should not be making up facts that cannot be supported.
When you make things up to try and get more support then you are doing the same thing you rail against bush for.
The second someone points out one fact that you don't agree with or questions anything you say you automatically make them out to be a war loving bush lover who drinks kool-aid.
No where in my post did I imply or assert that I supported the war or bush, or that I faulted the msm,yet that does not stop you from attacking me for no reason.
I guess your response to everything that you don't like or disagree with is that it must be coming from a Busie loving, war monger.
Well, waytogo, I didn't assume anything about your war ways. I did assume that you were faulting cato for starting a rumor and that assertion was false, in my estimation. Cato said this:
Reuters reports the bodies show signs of "barbaric torture." That term is usually used to reveal torture with electric drills, which is very common in that hell hole.
You said:
Way to start a rumor Cato. Glad you offer no proof of anything...Get a life sicko.
Reuters, a reliable source, is the source of this 'rumor.' And, again, this particular torture is not new...not a rumor. You were wrong.
But you are correct that I do assume that most anonymous comments defending any part of this Iraq fiasco are coming from a Kool-Aid drinking Bushie. I acknowledge my prejudice: I have no respect for anyone still supporting Bush. They obviously love their politics more than their country.
I guess your response to everything that you don't like or disagree with is that it must be coming from a Busie loving, war monger.

Wayto tries to come across as very reasonable, fair minded. I just don't know why he accepts the fact that Iraqi Defense Ministry official Major General Abdul Aziz Mohammed told Reuters earlier that the bodies showed signs of "barbaric torture," but when someone speculates that drills were used, Wayto gets all bent out of shape.
I'm sure there are worse things even than drills. For an Iraqi to call it "barbaric torture" tells plenty.
I fully believe the troops were tortured, and I am sure it was barbaric.
Let me make it clear, I do not think the toture did not happen it is the drill bit I have a problem with. Some of you need to read before reacting.
All I said was we do not need Cato of anyone else embelishing anything in order to make it worse.
It reminds me of the rapes of babies in teh Superdome, and the scores of bodies stacked up in the Convention Center, the gun toting thugs and gang wars running the Superdome. Remember all of those things people "saw" and the others like Oprah repeated as fact, when nothing of the sort was ever found?
My point is that what happened was bad, Cato adding in his two cents of it invloving drills (while offering nothing to support it) is asinine and not needed.
Once again I ask anyone to point out a news organization that has reported drills were used or one that point sout the drill are commonly used in Iraq as a torture device.
"I'm sure there are worse things even than drills. For an Iraqi to call it "barbaric torture" tells plenty." I agree with your 100%.
And yes I do get bent out of shape when people fabricate facts, I don't care if it is bush or cato. As I said all along, what happened is bad enough there is no need to embelish it.

Cato said Reuters reports the bodies show signs of "barbaric torture." That term is usually used to reveal torture with electric drills, which is very common in that hell hole.
He didn't say it was the case here, just that this is what the term "barbaric torture" usually means. Maybe it's the word "usually" that make you require supporting facts.
I did a web search on "torture with electric drills" and didn't have any problem finding lots of references to it, for example,
Throughout the Middle East, torture--real torture, with electric drills and vats of acid--is official policy and daily practice. -http://www.aynrand.org/site/News2?page=NewsArticle&id=8397&news_iv_ctrl=1063
Iraqi police and US military at prisons over there have been accused of doing this to prisoners, so it would be no surprise to see them turn it around and use it against our troops.
Contrary to what most people seem to want, I like to see a little facts thrown in to support possessions.
Split hairs all you want but it was clear that Cato insinuated with his statements.
BTW your news source is a website devoted to promoting Ayn Rand's philospohy of Objectivism. Certainly with the wealth of information you found with your search an AP, BBC, Rueteurs or any other source recognized as news source would have posted the article.
Post whatever you want, I am finished with thissub thread. It's obvious that it's going nowhere and that you will go to what ever lengths you need to to defend your little buddy's poor choices.
People such as yourself never seem to want facts to get in the way of your point of view.
Wow! Waytogocato really got his/her dander up on my analogy of the meaning of "barbaric torture" in Iraq. Apparently Waytogo feels the American soldiers would be treated differently that others when being put to death by these human monsters. But, I will assume that beheading is considered by Waytogo as a unique dastardly act by these criminals too.
So....to get a grasp at how death is delivered to most in Iraq, here it is. Good reading, Waytogocato.....
Seems to be like waytogo and cato and patrick all got in a big old pissing contest for no reason.
Looks like they all agree that torture is bad. Waytogo seems to have taken offense to the posting of conjecture as to how the troops may have died.
While on the other hand cato and patrick take that as waytogo denying the torture occurs in Iraq and seem to want to point out the torture used in Iraq.
Not sure how each of them leaped to their conclusions about the other but nonetheless is appears that the boys are busy pissing all over each other instead of reading what the other posts.
Apathy has killed those two servicemen. The apathy that allows the Republicans to stay in power due to a lack of determination to vote by the majority of our fellow Americans. We are too dang busy enjoying our freedom to appreciate the true costs and simple need for us to pay attention and vote when we have the opportunity.
I'm scared. I vote.....I will continue to vote....but not enough folks feel that their vote counts.
I am so sorry that we have allowed our great country to come to this point.
And there are so many young people dying and being injured because of our citizen's laziness.
I also hate to see this thread reporting the death's of these two young men turned into a pissing contest over what constitutes a rumor and the power of it on the web.
I pray for their families and the ones that remain in harm's way.
Seems to be like waytogo and cato and patrick all got in a big old pissing contest for no reason.
I beg to differ. Cato came in way late and was really not even in the contest (which I won, by the way, as the opponent fled from the field of battle).
While on the other hand cato and patrick take that as waytogo denying the torture occurs in Iraq Posted by: huh?
Please tell me where we say waytogo denied that torture occurs in Iraq.
neocon1
Look at the approval, make that disapproval ratings.
I don't care who stole the election. If the folks who should just got out and voted the margin wouldn't be so slim that would allow one side or the other to steal it.
Apathy, disillusion, downright disgust with the folks running has caused the possible voters to just give up this right.
And you know what I guess bully for you if you are enjoying the money you are making off of the blood of the young folks willing to die to allow you that luxury.
Shame on you.....for even thinking that that is something to brag or joke about.
neocon1 couldn't care less if all our troops were tortured to death, he supports the stock market and big tax cuts, get past that and your talking to the hand. The Republican hand that is directing everything evil.
Voting them out over the next two years isn't really punishment enough. They should be horse whipped and jailed.
I think neocon1 speaks for the entire Republican party when he states: "I love it when my Haliburton stock and Exxon-Mobile stock climbs higher and higher."
I wish more Republicans were that honest. It sure would show their true colors.See, with this bunch, it's all about the money.
They care more about money than human life. They care more about money than human suffering.
Patrick your little spat with waytogo was a nice read. But I doubt you can claim victory when the other party says they are done with the topic because it is going nowhere.
It's kind of like bush claiming mission accomplished.
From my experience in real life, those who win don't have to broadcast that fact.

I also hate to see this thread reporting the death's of these two young men turned into a pissing contest over what constitutes a rumor and the power of it on the web.
I pray for their families and the ones that remain in harm's way.

Well Bigfan1-
You are about to see the liberals one the board move the topic to claims that Bush stole the election and a majority did not vote for him.
Whatever, you whiners keep whinning about it all, it keeps you from actually doing anything.
I love it when my Hailburton stock and Exxon-Mobile stock climbs higher and higher.
BTW There were a lot of Dems who voted for the war as well. Do you blame them? No you give them a pass because they were "lied" to.

They disgust me.

Patrick your little spat with waytogo was a nice read. But I doubt you can claim victory when the other party says they are done with the topic because it is going nowhere.
It's kind of like bush claiming mission accomplished.
From my experience in real life, those who win don't have to broadcast that fact.
