How others see us

Hey, do this. Go here. It's an assortment of links to a variety of posts from weekly newspaper people who were at our convention last week. Including drinking, dancing and puking with one late-night explorer, who included video of her trip to Discovery (shown at right) and the author with her borrowed hat (below).

Don't see how a TEXAS girl has much call being snide about Little Rock. . .

i thought her comments were very condescending and rude. i think she judged little rock based on what she thought she would find her, rather than what she did find. furthermore, little rock is an awesome town and i am proud that i live here. regardless of what this chick has to say.

I agree with you, not cool. She poo-pooed downtown, took a picture of puke, and went to the Disco and she feels she can accurately describe Little Rock?! She can kiss my ass...

I've tried bbq in Texas, and Whole Hog is still the best around.

I think she just went to the wrong bar. I was at Midtown Billard's one of those nights and some of the people who were obviously from the convention seemed to have a great time there.

I'd pick "hole in the wall" over that "scene" any day.

P.S. When I say "scene", I don't mean anything derogatory. I like Disco I just can only handle it like once every six months or so.

agreed. texas bbq sucks.

Oh, please don't despair that this girl's observations were anywhere near reality. I feel certain that if she had spent an evening making the round with the editors of Soiree or Inviting Arkansas, her views might have been so much. More. Positive.

God have mercy on this idiot woman. This is MSM? Or did I miss something? Can someone e-mail her a map of Little Rock and explain that "downtown" is a little bit bigger than she remembered when she woke up from her alcohol-induced coma?
Is this nut from Texas?

Hey ya'll ...

Thanks for visiting my blog to read about my adventures in Little Rock!

I'm hoping to clear a few things up here.

First of all, I had a great time in Little Rock!

I didn't know what I'd find at all, but I thought it would be bigger. But hey - size ain't everything.

And no, I'm not from Texas, but I did spend some time there as a food writer. I can't help myself ... I'm mighty partial to Luling City Market in Luling, Texas.

Anywho, thanks for the hospitality!
