Meanwhile, in Bush's world
This Guantanamo news greets readers at the top of the NY Times home page:
The Defense Department said that a ruling against military tribunals did not prevent the government from holding suspects indefinitely and without charge.
Give up hope, etc.

Thanks to Paula Jones a sitting president can be sued even for sex.
Sex (everybody does it at every opportunity) isn't all that bad compared to Dubya's criminal activity (normal people avoid) he engages in at ever opportunity.
Let the lawsuits begin sooner rather than later.

Well, Bush taught them well. He's King, the military is his private army, the war on terror is eternal and the King is not beholden to any piddly law/Constitution.

"If they rule against the government, I don't see how that is going to affect us,"
What?!

Ok bloggers, are you going to lay down or stand up? This has been the worst week, the worst month, EVER for Bush. Look at the licks he's taken! I tell you the dam is bursting and we will again live under the rule of law and not the "unitary executive."
Of course the Defense Dept. (Rummy) issued this statement. They're cornered rats! If Justice Roberts had voted yesterday, the Bushites still would have lost! This Supreme Court owes Bush nothing, nothing at all. The 2000 decision to make him president is all he's getting out of the majority. Turn out the lights, shut down the jukebox, the bar is closed, folks.
The nation must make its way through the weeds to the end of the Bush administration. Too bad there's so much left of it. The 2006 mid-terms are for ALL THE MARBLES. It's time to get busy supporting every Democratic candidate for Congress, everywhere, even here. Stand up now and yell louder, work harder, donate more, influence your friend, get them to the polls. Help is on the way.
Please no more "he's going to get away with it again" memes here. Stand, stand, stand!
