Bang for the buck
Thanks to the Downtown Neighborhood Association's e-mail newsletter for a TV viewing tip.
Little Rock and, specifically the Abeles Condos on Louisiana Street, will be featured in the HGTV series "What You Get for the Money," at 9:30 p.m. July 12. The episode will cover homes in the $300,000 price range.

Comments
They ran a "What You Get For the Money" on a $600K place in Chenal Country Club last night. Great house, designed and built by a single mom for her family of three young boys. On the other hand, you could hear the traffic going down Chenal Parkway when they interviewed her outside.
HGTV probably reviewed more than two homes while in town. I hope we see more.

With a "friend" like Hillary, you don't need any enemies. From the PD blog:
Hillary's Cut-and-Run Strategy
Extensive polling went into two decisions that were announced this week in Connecticut's fierce Democratic Senate primary.
First, incumbent Joe Lieberman learned from his surveys that he has a real chance of losing the August 8 primary to wealthy anti-war businessman Ned Lamont, who has just agreed to put another $1 million of his own money into the race. That information prompted Mr. Lieberman to activate his insurance policy for staying in office by starting to collect enough signatures to run in the fall as an independent in a three-way race. Should Mr. Lieberman win such a race, he has previously announced he would continue to sit with Democrats in the Senate.
The Lieberman announcement in turn prompted Senator Hillary Clinton to tell reporters that should Mr. Lamont win, she will back him in the fall, despite a 30-year-long friendship with Mr. Lieberman that dates back to Yale Law School. Ms. Clinton's own polling has shown she has some weakness with strongly partisan Democrats who dislike her support for the Iraq War. If she had gone out of her way to back the hawkish Mr. Lieberman, there's a danger the liberal blogging community would have made her Public Enemy No. 1.
Given Mr. Lieberman's popularity with independent and Republican voters, he would be the favorite to keep his seat even if he lost the Democratic primary. But a Lamont victory -- based as it would be on a purely anti-war message -- could help Republicans make the case that the Democratic Party has become intolerant of people with tough-minded views on national security issues.

Will Huck's new mansion be on this TV show in the near future?
And Lieberman is a dead duck no matter what party he runs with. Hopefully Lincoln and Pryor are paying close attention to the Lieberman-Lamont race and seeing what can happen when Democrats morph into Republicans right before our eyes. Go Ned!
