WOODY ANDERSON NEWS RELEASE
FT.SMITH, AR- Woodrow “Woody” Anderson, Democratic candidate for Congress, challenged incumbent Congressman John Boozman to a debate to discuss Veterans issues today.
Anderson, a Captain of the Army Reserves, challenged Boozman on the heels of his town hall meeting on Veterans issues today in Fort Smith.
“Boozman claims he’s for Veterans, but the fact is he’s voted against our men and women in uniform time and again. In fact, he earned the worst voting record possible by the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) advocacy group in Washington, D.C.,” Anderson said. “After 15 years serving in the Army Reserve, I have never backed down from a fight. I won’t do it now or in Congress.”
Anderson hopes Boozman will accept his challenge to debate between now and the November 7 election.
“We’re both conservatives, but there are substantial differences between Boozman and myself especially on issues facing America’s Veterans. A public debate on these issues will bear that out once and for all. That’s why I hope he accepts my challenge.” Anderson said.

WARNING!!!!
Do NOT - Do NOT bring sharp instruments to any debate that Congressman John Boozman is partcipating in.
You will put yourself in danger of harming yourself or others. Suicidal or Homicidal rages are direct results of Boozman debates.
Having sat through only one - I warn you - it's brutal. The Congressman, to steal a famous broadway critic quote - brings your emotions from A to B. If it was anyplace else but NWA, this garden slug variety x football player who exhibits less than average intelligence and hasn't had an orginal thought since he's been in Congress - would of long ago been sent home to the grandkiddies.
But, it would be interesting to sit and listen to Anderson, a current Natl Guard Captian and intimately aware of the travesties that Bush and his enablers (Boozman) have brought upon our veterans. I just might risk bodily harm to myself and others.
Do I think Boozman will debate - we'll see after the next financial reports.

I've said it before to Jan Judy, want to win against the Boozer: call a press conference in front of the boozer's gated community and climb up on a milk carton and say " John Boozeman, come out from your gilded, gated community and fight like a man for your constituents".

Boozman is an empty shirt. He has done nothing of substance since entering office. Look at the few, very few, bills that he has sponsored himself. Naming a couple of cemetaries and streets are his biggest achievements. (He has piggy-backed his name on a couple of other peoples bills, but nothing of his own.) NWA might as well have no representation in Congress. You sir, are nothing but a mere follower. Your lack of anything close to being a representative of the people is an embarassment to all. May you leave this office with the same disgrace that you brought to it and to all people in NWA. Kick his ass, Woody!!!

Funny - if Woody Anderson was running for anything else Brantley would be giving HIM hell. Woody is too conservative to call himself a Democrat but I am glad he is running. I think he will be lucky to break 40%.

The only way to beat the Republicans up there is too wait until the seat is open and find a candidate who can raise enough message money to say "I am not like those other Democrats - I am like your county judge". Woody can say that, but he can't get his name ID up high enough to beat an incumbent. I'm proud of you Woody but without some serious resources from the rest of the state's Democrats you are in a tough one.

John Boozman is a fairly nice man from a good old Fort Smith family. He hasn't given us bad representation in Congress, he's given us NO representation in Congress. At this point in American history seat warming should be against the law. Boozman would be happier out of politics and back home enjoying the fruits of his day job. And what about that Jack Abramoff money???
I wish Woodrow Wilson Anderson III was less conservative....but he has a fire in his guts that Boozman never had and would be a better choice to represent us in DC. And sugar is right....send the guy some money!

It would be nice if Woody could get some fundraising money, but I think Hillary grabbed it all up. Go home Hillary!

Let me remind you, Congressman John Boozman brought 39 millions dollars of road money to NWA - YES, HE DID!!!
That's the road the over 6,000 Walmartians work.

And the timing will be perfect, as the "Crystal Bridges" funded by Alice - and the Arkansas Taxpayers gets started next year.
Thanks Congressman, we got gridlock at every 540 exit from Fayetteville to the Missouri line - and you somehow find money for Wal-Mart? Whore.

Woody is a good and decent fellow and would certainly be a better choice than Boozman. He needs money though if he is going to have a chance against an incumbent. Dems unite!

a disservice
That money did not go to HIllary - it went to the Arkansas Federation of Democratice Women. Who have traditionally funded candidates all over Arkansas every election cycle. Hilllary was kind enough to headline the AFDW event. That money will be put to good use in Arkansas.

I think Woodrow is going to do better than people think - but HE NEEDS MONEY! I admit I wish that Mac Campbell had spent his $350K against Boozman instead of blowing it in the primary for . . . Treasurer. (What the hell did a guy with all that DC experience want with the Treasurer's job anyway?!?!?) but I am going to get full force ($$) behind Woodrow even though I am from the 2nd District. We take Vic for granted and we should help the Democrats of the 3rd CD.

I find it hard to believe that Congressman Boozman was actually ever elected to public office to begin. While I am sure he has positives characteristics and has done a few things worthy of recognition he completely and totally lacks substance. When I think of the man the phrase "tits on a bull" comes to mind. Sad but true...
Woody Anderson? A good, stand-up man. A soldier, businessman, family man, and an educated man are all words that can describe him. He has a chance and has the potential to do so much for North West Arkansas. With proper funding he can make it.
North West Arkansas - Give Woody a chance!
I'm lucky enough to reside in the first district where Berry has a deathgrip on his seat. Mayor Tubby (Yes, Tubby)couldn't pry Congressman Berry out of his seat with the jaws of life.

From one who lives in Boozeman's district.........I offered the Eureka Springs Auditorium to Woody when we hosted his visit last week, as the sight of the debate if Boozeman has the balls to accept the challenge. I have experience, unfortunately, with said Boozeman, having challanged his votes AGAINST Veteran's bills in '04 at a Rotary breakfast, that ended up in a riot. Guess the silly twit didn't realize that Rotary (at least here) is about 3/4 retired Military. Altho I'm not a member, my Marine son was serving in Iraq & I felt I had the right to question him. He didn't.
Blue Ticker is SO correct; TAKE NO SHARP OBJECTS!! The desire to maim & destroy is just too great a threat & Boozeman is simply not worth it.
GOOOO WOOOODDDDDYYYYY!!!!!!!!

Which vet's bills did he vote against in 2004?
Posted by: Anonymous | July 16, 2006 11:47 PM
If he voted to fund the war, he voted against Veterans.

Boozie's most recent outrage was his opposition to extending the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Said it was "unfair" to certain Southern states. Wowee. Bet that one played pretty big in Benton County.
Are they afraid it may cover voter list scrubbing by racial precinct profiles ?

oops. Should have been Voting Rights Act of 1964. So solly.

"Which vet's bills did he vote against in 2004?"
He voted in favor of eliminating travel expense allowances for active combat soliders. They can get their own transportation home.
He supported Bush's provision to add
$250 up front deductible to every vet's hospital stay. If you have ever been around one of those hospitals and watched some of the vets come in on ragged wheel chairs and well worn clothing , needing dental work you slowly and painfully realize $250 would likely buy their groceries for a month.
He is a good CUT n RUN Republican:
cuts soliders benefits and runs away from military service.
The House and Senate are full of them, not to mention the V-P office.

Really? What part of the 423-0 vote was he on?

Just a tidbit -- not intended to be a dark cloud.
With todays health care one would think people would live longer however that doesn't seem to be the case with the Rockefeller's.
His Great-Grandfather livered to be 98; Grandfather lived to be 86; his father made it to 61 and Winthrop just died at 57.
It must be in declining genes and perhaps some medical expert can englighten.

Jack, same thing is happening in my family. 95, 64, 55. I'm 50, don't look a day over 58, drink little, smoke lots and keep my weight between the top of my head and the soles of my feet.
Now don't worry. I understand that Bill Gates is working on a secret project that will allow future generations to blog from the grave. Hurry Bill!
