And today's polls say

1) Bush has low approval rating in Arkansas -- 36 approval rating (like everywhere else but Utah).

2) Pryor and Lincoln ride high with voters.

3) And, today's talker, either Hillary or Wes Clark would beat Huckabee in Arkansas in a 2008 presidential race -- 51 to 36 or 37. Good response from The Huckster:

Considering the Arkansas News polls having every Republican candidate 20 to 30 points behind the Democrat despite every other poll taken saying the opposite, this would have to be seen as very positive," the governor said.

Speaking of which, The Huckster gets a mention, but only a brief one, in a NY Times roundup on the early campaign activities of 2008 candidates from both parties.

YEA!!!! Bush's poll numbers are low!!! We can feel better about ourselves!!!

By the way Bush's numbers are above 40% in a number of polls since everyone was reminded that terrorism is actually a real danger when we helped the British foil the recent terrorist plot.

These Republicans just don't get it. When you do a lousy job you're poll numbers should be in the toilet and you should be thrown out of office. Works the same way with Democrats.

Politics isn't like loving your wife, though 50% of unsatisfactory wives and husbands are rejected every year. If a politician sucks...run him or her off...find a better one. Seems pretty simple to me.

Looking back over this period it should be a very long time before we trust Republicans with our government again. Good day I say!

Yeah, but then how can we explain the high poll numbers of the state's US senators?

I think an addition is required to the statement:
If a politician sucks, and the people take the time to study them enough to realize they suck...run him or her off...find a better one.

Yeah....there is no apparent reason for Pryor and Lincoln to be polling good numbers unless the whole state is asleep or the books are cooked.

Why the uproar over LIEberman when Mark and Blanche vote far to the right of Touché Turtle. If the Democratic voters of Arkansas aren't upset with them right now, they're in for life. And what a sad thought that is. I just know we can do better.

Maybe in 2010 all will be revealed and we'll find out that Lincoln and Pryor were really undercover Democrat moles the last couple of years, infiltrating the Bush White House. Feeding secret information to the guys in the white hats. It's entirely possible the US has already been taken over by the Bush neo-cons and Mark and Blanche are in an underground resistance force.

Won't I have egg on my face? Won't Lincoln and Pryor be heroes when we find out they spied their way into the solution that saved America from Herr Bush, Cheney and Rove. I'll gladly take back everything I've said about them on VB Day, when Bush is defeated and commits suicide with Laura at his side.

Old Cheney will beat the firing squad by biting down on a tiny capsule of poison he has implanted in a molar. Rumsfeld will be drug thru the streets and finally hung upside down and shot while the crowd roars their approval.

I forgive Senator Lincoln if she had to put on dainty sleep-wear and use her womanly charms to get pillow-talk info out of Rummy....info so crucial that it saves the day for our battered old country! Go Blanche! Shake your patriotic tail-feathers!!!

OK Spirit.....I've figure it out! Our 2 Democratic Senators are deep undercover appearing to do Bush's bidding at every turn. But now we know it's all part of a Harry Reid plot to foil the Republicans and save America!

YES! YES! YES! We sure enough have great Senators after all!!!! Now I can sleep at night....wait till I go tell Ma.......Ma....Ma.....we're saved.....Ma.....
