Don't worry, W was thinking about Camus at the time
Here's a laugh to brighten the day of those stopped in traffic on I-630 and I-430 at the noon-hour while W was rushed to a gated neighborhood in WLR for a plate of bad Memphis barbecue.

Man, I don't think I have ever heard AT trash a local business/restaurant as bad as you guys are doin' Corky's.
Maybe ol' Joe can show you they are good ports and send you some free grub.
ARK. BLOGI think it's mostly some readers and Seymour, not AT institutionally, trashing Corky's. It's always a contender in the Best Ribs category of our Best of contest. I like it fine myself, though I prefer Sims' ribs on a good day (though not all of them are) and think Whole Hog is hard to beat on pulled pork. Apologies to all of them, but nobody does truly great Texas-style brisket in Arkansas, though Whole Hog usually comes closest.

corky's is only ok. whole hog is much better and i will never step foot in corky's again just for the principle. i seriously doubt my business will be much of a loss similar to my boycott of wal mart but it will make me feel better. i occasionally have to go to wal mart with my wife but since i started my individual boycott their profits have been down since the previous year so they feel it.

You can have all that fancy store bought ribs/bbq I prefer mine slow cooked on out here at Kove farms. and I bet that W would like mine over some former NBA player and if he came out here to have a plate I would tell him that he is the worst president ever.

" . . . Whole Hog is hard to beat on pulled pork. . . . "
My grammaw said that would make you go blind.

Please, please, please tell me the mike caught her peeing while the President was talking about Katrina. While personally embarassing to her, the symbolism would be priceless.

CNN is "addressing how this happened and why it was not more promptly corrected on air".
The answer to why it was not corrected sooner is obvious--no one was listening to the president's speech. No surprise there.

Oh, Corky's isn't THAT bad. It suffices if you have a hankering for bbq on a Sunday night, for example. Where else around here can you get bbq and a drink of whisky on the Sabbath? That is reason alone for the folks here to lay off Corky's. They are at least providing a public service.

Could have been worse.
And her relationship with her husband will certainly rise to new heights now.
May be some uncomfortable moments around the sister-in-law now, but I suspect there were already strains there.
Women have a way of getting past this sort of thing.

Corky's isn't awful. In some places (Dallas for instance) it would be the best BBQ in town. It's just that LR is blessed with some good BBQ joints that are considerably better than Corky's.
I used to like to go there because you would frequently run into Big Joe. Not so fond of that prospect anymore.

I'm with Sparky,
Nothing wrong with Corky's but it is more of what I would expect from a chain.
Joe Klein has been generous with Big Brothers/Big Sisters giving us a place to recruit and donating food.
But Spirit- your nuts!
"Women have a way of getting past this sort of thing"?
What planet do you get your women from?
Women remember EVERYTHING FOREVER.
Ask a girl why she doesn't like some other girl and you get an answer like, "in second grade she made fun of me because my hair bow did not match my socks, I can't stand her since then."
Guys have always used the duke it out then be best buds interpersonal style.
If your sister-in-law calls you a control freak on CNN, it might take some getting over. Unless of course she is proud of her control freak style.
Other than that I don't think Spirit is nuts.

I have to agree with Julianna. That would be a funny as flushing next to someone blathering on a cell phone -- although I've decided the blatherers really don't think it's an issue.
Maybe something more . . . earthy?

Ketchup and river water...
Probably tastes better than Corky's sauce...
And thanks for the link, Seymour...passionate, baby...
