ANDERSON NEWS RELEASE

Ft. Smith , AR- Democratic candidate for Congress Woody Anderson will unveil his plan to make higher education attainable for everyone who is willing to work for it in a Saturday press conference at the Fayetteville Public Library.

“ I believe Arkansas students deserve the same shot at a great education that I got.  But you have to be willing to put in the hard work.  I think that my plan can help hard working students achieve their dreams,” said Anderson .

Anderson enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve as a Private First Class when he was eighteen years old.  He said that were it not for the aid he got while in the military, along with some federal student loans, he would have not gotten the great education he received.

“Congress should make college loan funding permanent.  It seems like every year there is a debate on how much to cut on college loans, instead of looking for ways to invest in our kids who are working to achieve the American Dream.  Unfortunately, politicians like John Boozman are voting to cut federal student aid by twelve billion dollars.  That’s after he and his Republican colleagues decided to increase interest rates on student loans.  Dumb decisions like that are what’s wrong with Congress today.”

 Anderson plans to unveil his plan in a press conference to be held at 7 South School Avenue , across from the Blair Library in Fayetteville Saturday, September 28 at 1:45 p.m.
