Clinton pushes back
More and more, I think E.J. Dionne's interpretation is correct.
Bill Clinton's eruption on "Fox News Sunday" last weekend over questions about his administration's handling of terrorism was a long time coming and has political implications that go beyond this fall's elections.
By choosing to intervene in the terror debate in a way that no one could miss, Clinton forced an argument about the past that had up to now been largely a one-sided propaganda war waged by the right. The conservative movement understands the political value of controlling the interpretation of history. Now its control is finally being contested.

One might ask just how low can the GOP and this administration go? Well ask no more for if you haven't read and/or listened to Video Tape associated with the following story perhaps this would be a good time to do so --
Keith Olbermann Terrorized and Government Tries to Hide it

We have serious reason to worry about Olbermann's safety. Last night, he reported that he'd been threatened, apparently with some anthrax-like substance that required him to be subjected to 10 hours of detention in a hospital. He was discharged with a prescription for Cipro. Worse, he and his network were told to keep this off the air.

KO is the bulldog the Dems have been needing. His command of the language, his forceful speaking, and his masterful handling of the facts are a plus for his fans and interested viewers.
I have hopes that he'll appear at the next Democratic convention and will speak as decisively on the Bush machinations that have brought this country to its current mess.
What a keynote speaker he would be!!

The way Olbermann has been socking it to the White House lately, I wouldn't be surprised if he falls in the tub and dies like old Superman. I busily shoot my mouth off all the time about what a bastard Bush is, but I'm doing hiding behind a fake name....not out there with my name in large letters under my face. I'm well aware my brand of bravery is a pin prick next to Olbermann's. And no matter how much you're used to TV cameras, no matter how high up your studio might be, it takes gigantic balls to call out the President of the United States.
But what Olbermann and Bill Clinton have done is show that all us millions who hate what Bush-Cheney have done in our name, simply need a leader. I thought for a while it was going to be Russ Feingold, but he's dipped back under the waves.
The Bush administration has point men in all direction. They are currently spreading the lie that 7-11 dropped Citgo as their 20 oil supplier because of a connection to Chavez and his remarks of this month against Bush. It is a 100% lie, I heard it from the 7-11 spokeswoman yesterday. 7-11 has been sold to the Japanese, they are at the end of their 20 year contract with Citgo and now have their own supply for gasoline. It has nothing to do with Hugo Chavez and has been in the works for several years.
But the Rovian Machine knows it never hurts to bloody your opponent by pouring more dirt on their head, even if you have to make it up. We should start finding ways to associate Asa's name with every car wreck and overdose in the state. The sheep will pick up on it and by election time we'll have shaved another 5 points off his totals, just by lying every time his name comes up or a disaster happens. "My daughter has an infected cyst on her arse and the doctor said she got it at an Asa rally." See....very simple.
What we need is for Bill Clinton to go ahead and take the reins of the revolt. Who better to be the leader of the Bush-Cheney opposition than the guy they've been slandering since day 1? Our side needs a voice, our side needs direction, our side needs someone to tell us we are indeed doing the right thing to fight against those who are destroying our country from the inside.
I am totally ready to use my money, my voice and my feet to stop the neo-con Republican takeover of the USA. We must root them out at home, across our state and across our country. Not so our side will win, that's peanuts, but so our children and grandchildren will get a chance to grow up in the kind of country we were so honored to have experienced. I can't die leaving my kids in a Bush World and that idea takes the sting out of the thought of dying fighting the Bush-Cheney cabal to the very end.
Come on, Bill! Step up to the plate...take us to the Promise Land, we're at the starting line, all we need is someone to fire the starting shot! Lead us, we are ready to follow!

Wow.
I just e-mailed a link to that video to everybody on my mailing list. I think it would be good if everybody else here did the same - even Anon and the REpugs. Because, surely their RW friends will want to refute all that. It's looking more and more like BushCo NEEDED for 9/11to happen. Did they allow it? Intentionally? If so, that's way more than an impeachable offense. It's a capital offense. If this thing grows, like it should, watch for the REpugs to start changing their tune on the Death Penalty.
