Hypocrite of the day

That would be wacky Republican Jim Holt, or one of his advisers. Yesterday they were unhappy because the Democratic candidate for lt. gov., Bill Halter, was spending a lot of money on polling. Jim Holt doesn't need any public opinion polling, even if he could afford it, the Holt campaign said.

And what does the Holt campaign do today? It cited a public opinion poll to show how in touch Holt is with the citizenry on punishing the illegal hordes streaming across our borders in search of the American dream. Halter's response: He's just as categorically unforgiving of people who want to live in America and he also calls Holt a hypocrite. He's at least half-right on the day.

The only issue that Halter hasn't bent over on since the primary is repealing the minimum wage.

Quick Jim, ask Bill if he believes flag burning should be legal! Ask him if he still feels fetuses are ok to kill now that he has one of his own!

Wish I'd voted for Hathorn!!!

He is what the Rebug party is all about today. It is definately time for a change.

A couple of Holt campaigners visited me recently. They looked about 17 or 18 years old. Said they were from Pocahontas.
Holt needs to educate his campaigners to not argue, and definitely not stay when asked (nicely) to go.

There is a big difference in taking a poll to see which stance you want to take on an issue like Halter did and taking a stand when it is not popular and having it confirmed by a poll like Holt did. I don't think you people are really stupid enough not to see the difference. You just think if you say it enough people will start to believe it.

The fact that Halter called Holt a hypocrite (if he did) is simply projection or delusional. Everyone knows that Holt has been honest and above board on every issue while Halter keeps flip flopping and refusing to answer questions. Here is Holt's press release. Perhaps you will post Halter's, Max.

Senator Jim Holt vindicated by results of survey - Would Halter now call himself extreme?

An Arkansas immigration survey released recently by the media brings attention again to a very important issue in which voters are very interested. Spokesman Dan Noble said "Senator Holt has been eviscerated for his stand on illegal immigration and called extreme by Mr. Halter. His opponent has used the terms 'inflammatory... race-baiting and demagoguery more than once in reference to Senator Holt's stand on illegal immigration and publicly stated that he disagrees with Holt's SB 206 which Holt sponsored in 2005 to deny illegal aliens state benefits except in the case of emergency."

Senator Holt was vindicated when the recent survey revealed, however, that more than 2/3 of Arkansans supported Senator Holt's SB 206 which he sponsored in 2005 to deny state tax payers benefits to illegal aliens. The electorate, therefore, is far more in tune with Senator Holt's views than that of his opponent or the media. "A view held by 2/3 of the electorate could hardly be called "extreme". Would Halter now call himself "extreme" or "extremely liberal" since he disagrees with 2/3 of the electorate on this issue? Holt asked. "Or will he change his mind with the new "public opinion polls" that he has conducted and say the people spoke correctly in the survey?"

Noble also said "Senator Holt has made his position clear on another aspect of illegal immigration. He led the fight in helping defeat HB 1525 which would have given scholarships and in state tuition to illegal aliens." (Non citizen students become detainable and deportable at age 18 ½) . "HB1525 had passed the House, and with one more vote it would have been a tie; and the Lt. Governor would have had to break it. Noble asked, "Which way would Halter have voted and where will he throw his support and influence if he becomes Lt. Governor?" A similar bill is sure to be proposed in future legislative sessions, Noble asserted.

A newspaper article reported that Halter declined to say whether he supports amnesty for illegal aliens and open borders. "Since the election is right on our heels, Halter should speak to this issue," Holt said. "Since amnesty has so many connotations, will Halter be specific and tell the voters if he agrees with the aspects of the US Senate bill (A) which allows illegal immigrants who have been in the country five years or more to remain and become permanent residents (B) if he approves of providing 200,000 new temporary guest worker visas a year. (C) if he agrees with creating a special guest-worker program for an estimated 1.5 million immigrant farm workers who could earn legal permanent residency.

"I believe that since Mr. Halter is not a known quantity in Arkansas, having lived out of the state for the past 25 years, he needs to give more detailed answers to his beliefs on the many questions of illegal immigration. I know that Mr. Halter is not used to answering the tough questions, but he needs to understand that it's not just the Holt campaign asking these questions but also the Arkansas voters that want to know where he stands on illegal immigration." Noble stated

Holt needs to get a job in order to support his family. I have no idea what the voters who elected him were thinking, but supporting that family takes a lot more than what he makes, even with the per diem.

chris....

"I believe that since Mr. Halter is not a known quantity in Arkansas, having lived out of the state for the past 25 years, he needs to give more detailed answers to his beliefs on the many questions of illegal immigration.

Your biggest problem and why Holt won't break 40% is because...
HOLT IS A KNOWN QUANTITY

Any reasonable soul who listen's to Holt, who wants to take public education away from working folks...and feeds into that are the 32%ers...bless their hearts.

I don't vote for BIG(idi)OTS!! Never have, never will.
