Silly season

"I'll show you mine if you show me yours."

That's the sucker play A$a! offers to Mike! in challenging him to release all the candidate surveys he's filled out for various interest groups. A$a will release his, but only if Mike releases his in coordinated fashion. If openness is so important, why not just release them now?

Farther down the feeding chain, Jim Holt is crying because Bill Halter is spending money on public opinion polling. If it's so bad and such an indication of how out of touch Bill Halter must be with Arkansas, how come the Republican Party does it?

Its my understanding that Asa has not said he won't release his, he just thinks that they could both release them together.

The idea here is that both men should let the sun shine in on where they stand.

I understand that Asa will release regardless, and he's giving Beebe a chance to do the right thing first before Asa releases his responses and criticized Beebe for refusing to tell the voters where he stands.

I expect Beebe will release his reponses with Asa.

Boys will be boys. Mines bigger than yours.

Holt makes a good whiner, all that whinning. I understand being an adopted kid is rough, but, hey somebody wanted him, maybe not everybody but somebody did. Bless their hearts.

What does Beebe have to hide?

I saw a Jim Holt sign today on JFK in NLR in which he had the word GUNS in big letters and advertised that he was was a member of NRA.

"What does Beebe have to hide?"

I hope you don't think anybody here is foolish enough to think that all federal records regarding Asa would be opened while GWB and Darth Cheney are in charge.

The bait and switch trick has been exposed too many times. Nice try.

Holt is adopted? Thank God. Whew, I thought he might be related to my family.

Asa isn't trying to be all things to all people.

Beebe's responses will be muddled, wishy washy attempts to please everybody. The trail of Beebe policy positions is littered with flip flops and contradictions.

His position on gay adoption is a great example. When he's not in Little Rock, he's been telling my friends from south Arkansas that he wants to protect rural schools. He recently told the Realtors that he thinks we need to strengthen property rights after he officially said that Arkansas property rights are not in danger. His "tax cut" ideas are typical democrat misdirection. What he actually wants to do is shift taxes. It is not a tax cut if you raise other taxes to offset it.

Beebe is a whore and I'll be surprised if any of you have the guts to admit that your candidate isn't proud enough of his liberal beliefs to tell the people of Arkansas about them.

One of those questionnaires said that he was in favor of intelligent design...

I guess none of you libs want to own up to this.

Why should Beebe do this. It shows A$a's desperation going into the election. Bye-Bye A$a!

BR549-

You just asked why Beebe should tell the voters what he's promised to special interest groups.

If you don't get why he should be honest with the voters, then you are pretty warped.

Also, have any of you emailed Beebe asking for info?

So you don't like liberals. Fine.

You don't like the people who: fought for or enacted clean air and water standards, worker safety protections, the 40-hour work week, the social security program, the civil rights movement, the equal rights movement, the free speech movement, discrimination protections, the free school lunch program, birth control, rural electrification, organized labor, child-labor laws, the minimum wage, employee healthcare benefits, public assistance, Americans with Disabilities Act, fair housing legislation, the Freedom of Information Act, the Voting Rights Act, food and drug safety regulations, federally subsidized student loans, collective bargaining..

And everything else they have done to put power back into the hands of the individual, and out of the hands of the ruling and corporate elite.

I am proud to stand up for my liberal beliefs. How about your list for conservative beliefs? Please be so kind as to list them for us. Who do they give power to?

Just remember that both liberal and liberty come from the same Latin word, liber, meaning "to be free."

Jake, is Beebe a liberal?

If so, why won't he proudly respond to the Family Council's survery and list his liberal beliefs?

Asa is a conservative, and damn proud of it I'd imagine. He's not afraid to tell you where he stands. Why is Beebe?

If Asa can fill out an AFL-CIO survey, then why is it too much to ask for Beebe to fill out the Family Council's?

To find an objective questionnaire go to:

www.vote-smart.org

All of the gubernatorial candidates' answers are there. This is the closest thing we may ever get to a real debate.

Jim Lendall
Green Party Candidate for Governor

Those are questions you have to ask Mike Beebe. I'm not here to speak for or against him. I have posed a challenge for someone to list the accomplishments of the conservatives.
You will notice that I am not denigrating anyone and I hope your list is as meritorious as I think my list is. It might show that this country needs both sides to be strong and free. To turn the words liberal and conservative into perjoratives makes losers of us all.
So, get to work and make that list. What have conservatives coontributed to the individual American, to protect our resources, to champion the common man and woman, to guarantee the rights of any American regardless of color, creed, religion, sex, and beliefs?

I wish you luck and success in this venture. Accentuate the positive and show us the benefits we now have because of conservative legislation and beliefs.

Jim,

I checked out the vote-smart site and was very impressed with it. It's a shame that both Mike and Asa refused to do it.
I thought their format was fairly thorough and certainly appreciated the fact that all participants had to check those items they supported and couldn't indicate any they opposed. Apparently the American voter is much more concernd with what you stand for than what you stand against and they follow this philosophy honestly.
They certainly didn't shy away from issues so I wonder why Asa and Mike refused them?
