The race for Congress
Channel 11 released a new poll on 2nd District Congress last night
Incumbent Vic Snyder (D) 56
Andy Mayberry (R) 42
That's a four-point improvement for Mayberry, who takes great happiness from poll internals that show him with a lead among a sliver of the 468 people surveyed in the under 35 category. A swing from a 37 percent lead by Snyder in the last poll to an 11 percent lead by Mayberry in that category suggests something isn't quite right one way or the other. Snyder leads in virtuallly every other segment, except Republican and conservative voters. Mayberry has been campaigning actively. Snyder hasn't begun his media, I don't think.

Comments
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that Mayberry will lose. He doesn't have any money and he has no way to move voters. Plus he is a giant tool. I think Mayberry will get 42% of the vote, which is about the absolute base for a Republican in the 2nd District. After he loses he'll bitch that if only the NRCC had given him $1 million he could have gotten 48%.
This poll, like very other poll released to the public thus far, is total shit. Any poll that doesn't cost at least $20,000 is worthless, and any poll that costs that much will never be shared with the public.

"Plus [Mayberry] is a giant tool."--Rich Voss
That's absolutely the most incisive, truthful commentary ever to grace this blog. The only question remaining is this one: why in the hell the tool puts his goofy-ass picture on his signs? That picture alone is bound to cost him at least 2%.

42% would be pretty amazing in my opinion. I suppose he will just keep running for office until he is finally elected to something.

Predictions...
I'll put him on 39.7% for Mayberry. I think Parks got 42% in 2004??? There'll be less Repub turnout than in the Presidential election.

I don't belief that 42 per cent will vote for a Bush backslapping idiot rubber stamping republican no matter how homophobic they are. Although being that Vic is about as low on the congressional totem pole as you can get and he did vote for CAFTA. Still how could you justify a vote for Andy?

Republicans supported CAFTA.

It is so difficult for me to imagine that a man with so little to recommend himself as Mayberry, can garner 4.2% let along 42% of the electorate. We have really dumbed down our expectation of leadership after bozo stole the White House.

The cream of the crop, people, Mayberry is the cream of the Republican crop. Like Bush. And A$a. And Holt.
There must be a certain IQ level you cannot go above and run on the GOP ticket.

Conservative commentator David Brooks reported on NPR at 5:18 pm that
Democrats would gain control of Congress.
Oh Tom, Tom , dear Tom Delay, why have you forsaken us?

Don't believe the hype- Lwood- Republicans are only saying this to fire up their donors and their voters. This expectations game is a sure loser for Democrats.
