It's still Mike!
Opinion Research Associates has completed another poll for Stephens Media, with the governor's race results released first tonight on Fox 16.
Beebe 53
Hutchinson 35
The remainder to the two minor candidates and undecided.
We'll check the Stephens Capitol bureau's site for full results tomorrow.
Fox 16 also promises to post by tomorrow morning (Tuesday) an hour-long joint appearance by the major candidates at Philander Smith (shown here in a Brian Chilson photo). Fox 16's news account focused on the sales tax on groceries. Beebe said he'd eliminate it, but in phases. A$a contended the $700 million state surplus, will be sufficient to absorb a $270 million sales tax loss in one gulp. But he didn't mention that more than $600 million in needs are pending in school construction, Medicaid and prisons. Sounds like A$a got his arithmetic learning in one of those inadequate little schools he vows to save.

If you take the Oakleafs seriously, you are a maroon.
This guy is the laughing stock of Arkansas politics.
Well, maybe not. Drew Pritt is the laughing stock of Arkansas politics, but Oakleaf is #2.

"If you take the Oakleafs seriously, you are a maroon."
Sure, that's why poorly informed, half-baked maroons like the Stephens
continue to use Oakleaf's polling. They just go out pick money from trees and give it to Oakleaf's company.
Your just a real whiz kid you are-Let's have an old One-Two you're down Rocky.

Just type in Beebe + college bond and you'll find an article that shows a list of which candidates do and do not support the college bond (Beebe & Hutchinson both support). On another ArkBlog about the college bond, an excellent debate on the issue was held and it is also listed when you goggle the above listing.
Don't know what you're fussing about. It's all there and aint hard to find.

BY MICHAEL R. WICKLINE
Maybe you can google that and it should work.

Hate to be a bother Jake, but that ArkTImes piece says nothing about Beebe supporting the college bonds, and the link on the Dem-Gaz piece doesn't work.
How about a date and a title on the article, then I can look it up myself.
Thanks.

Hate to break it you you Jake, but that was the bond proposal from last year.
This bind deal is a new one, and its one which Asa has expressed support for.

And remember this poll was taken after the Republicans made torture a part of American life, but before Republicans were shown to be pedophiles and people who protect pedophiles. All this while Woodward showed Bush and Condi to be liars and lazy incompetents who did everything but chase Osama until 9-11. Weren't these the same people blaming 9-11 on Clinton just a week ago?
Asa should break out and declare himself an Independent if he hopes to have any chance of winning. As it is...he's going to be embarrassed this November. And no, none of this brings tears to my eyes....except when I think of what the rest of the world must think of this country. Torture and teenage boys.......what sad shape we're in.

The food tax should not be removed on all foods. If the tax must be phased in, start with healthy foods that are underconsumed in Arkansas. Arkansans consume too few fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and low fat dairy products. Drop the food tax on healthier foods to encourage their consumption.
There's no reason to take the tax off of junk food like twinkies, ice cream, high fat meats, soft drinks and overconsumed foods like French/freedom fries.
One argument for removing the tax on food is that farmers don't pay tax on the food they feed their livestock. But that food is highly regulated with regard to nutrition.
If a farmer wants to feed his cattle twinkies, he pays a food tax.

I say remove the tax from food and start taxing masturbation. We couldn't truck all the money to the bank! Spank it! Paron gets their school back!
You medical folks will pick right up on this....it appears Asa's popularity and chances of winning are being drained off by this new Foley Catheter that attached to Asa and all other Republicans quite suddenly 2 days ago. A quick political checkup will reveal that not only are Asa's poll numbers are lowering by the hour but his blood pressure is dropping and he might pass out. He canna take it, Jim!
Might be a real good time to cram some of his campaign funds into 3 lb coffee cans and start burying them out in the sticks in Benton County, while he still can. Asa will need that money in his old age. No use throwing it away on TV spots at this point.
Unless Asa can detach himself from Bush and the Foley Catheter in the next few days.....tsk, tsk, tks......sure wouldn't want to be Asa.
