Local angle
The D-G front-paged today the Red Cross announcement that it will go through an overhaul. The charity is too political and too bureaucratic, many say.
We would have liked a mention of a local angle. That is: Do you think hiring a governor's wife, Janet Huckabee by name, with no previous relevant experience for a staff "liaison" job in the Arkansas Red Cross chapter would amount to being too political or too bureaucratic or both?

How come Congress has to approve any changes the Red Cross makes (according to the Democrat).

Hell, why not change the name to the Huckabee Red Cross and be done with it. Janet's been chomping at the bit ever since she quit selling Hanke Brother's steel siding. No telling what that woman will do when she's out of office.
And let us remember, this is the same Red Cross that sent back a 1 million dollar check from the Dixie Chicks after Katrina. They'd rather trash a million than take dirty money from a girl band who speaks the truth.
Throw some PAC money at em Janet and get your name on their sign.....go on...you know you deserve it!

Don't forget they turned down a $1M donation from the Dixie Chicks.
It's like the GOP cross. The reason it's red is because it's a burning cross.

Did they really turn down a million dollars from the Chicks?
How stupid.

I **love** the Dixie Chicks & I'm not a fan of the Red Cross.
Here's the scoop on the $1 million:
