Mission accomplished

Speaking of subjects more important than the Foley scandal:

The death toll -- more than 2,700 -- is only part of the story of the U.S. military  in Iraq. The count of wounded is also staggering. According to the Department of Defense, 776 military personnel were wounded in action in September, the highest number since November 2004 and the fourth highest any month of the war, dating back to March 2003. Total U.S. wounded in action: Nearing 21,000. Iraqi deaths are estimated at perhaps 20 times those of U.S. forces.

Makes me wonder if Haliburton has the contract to make the Purple Hearts for Bush's war.

Strangely enough, Mission Accomplished is correct. What you see is what you get for years to come. You broke it, you own it actually has real consequences.

We could afford to leave Vietman.

Yeah, what we need is a North Iraq to take over when we dump helicopters in the drink and bring our troops home. Lord knows if we left Iraq would descend into chaos.....oops, too late. Well then, Iraq will erupt into a civil war.......oops, too late. If we leave terrorists will flock to Iraq to.....oops, too late. The airport road....no....the death rate of Iraqis will climb...no, too late....

If the US pulls out of Iraq now, Exxon will not get the oil, Halliburton will not get no bid contracts and thousands of US paid mercenaries will have to come back home and go back to driving a dump truck. All that good Republican money dried up on the vine. Oh say it will never happen!

The Carlyle Group begs you to please please keep feeding your kids to this war for oil. Pleeeeeese for the love of George W. Bush, we must stay in Iraq forever!

Now who's in denial.

Set the whole region ablaze and Bin Ladin actually gets what he wants. That is the really sad truth. George is Bin Ladin's bitch.

Perhaps Bush and his Administration were right, they didn't put up the "Mission Accomplished" banner. It was Al-Qaida.

As we learned in Vietnam and the Russians learned in Afghanistan, one of the tactical and strategical successes of an insurgent or guerilla is to get the larger more powerful opponent to attack at the wrong place and time.

The numbers are appalling, and not just the numbers of our dead and injured, but those of the other forces wich have joined us and the number of Iraqis dead and injured. Yeah, we broke it; we bought it. I really don't see any way out of this quagmire. Just walk away and let the blood flow, I guess. It's sickening.

For those of you who haven't checked out Snafu, he has posted an incredible letter from a Marine officer serving in Iraq.

Bush is never going to admit his huge mistake in the invasion of Iraq, an innocent country. He stated that he would stay the course even if his only supporters were his wife and dog.
We must show Bush that we oppose him trying to be a King instead of the POTUS.

I wonder if W will be smirking when we surrender his ass to the Hague to be tried for crimes against humanity?
