Mission accomplished
Why do the Army generals hate America?
The American military’s stepped-up campaign to staunch unrelenting bloodshed in the capital under an ambitious new security plan that was unveiled in August has failed to reduce the violence, a military spokesman said today.

My understanding, from what I've heard today via NPR, for example, is that the violence is not only not abated, but has, in fact, increased of late.
Yeah, it's not working.

Iraq was from the beginning nothing but Dubya's prize to daddy and as bonus, contracts to political cronies.
Mission unaccomplished.
Bush failed, and continues to fail.
Now what?
Invade another country and hope the American people will swallow another pile of crap?
Oh, but I guess we can't do that. We've wasted our time, money, and resources, not to mention almost 3,000 lives in Iraq, all the while destroying the goodwill we once enjoyed worldwide.
We need strong leaders who will get us out of the mess Bush created. Not in two years, but now!

Marines' Families Line Up for Food Handouts
This is a national disgrace:
October 13, 2006
The women and children who formed a line at Camp Pendleton last week could have been waiting for a child-care center to open or Disney on Ice tickets to go on sale.
Instead, they were waiting for day-old bread and frozen dinners packaged in slightly damaged boxes. These families are among a growing number of military households in San Diego County that regularly rely on donated food.
As the Iraq war marches toward its fourth anniversary, food lines operated by churches and other nonprofit groups are an increasingly valuable presence on military bases countywide. Leaders of the charitable groups say they're scrambling to fill a need not seen since World War II.

After many warnings and constructive criticisms, ignorant arrogance has achieved . . .
The situation begins to remind you of a line from "The Wizard of Oz."
"I'm melting, I'm melting..."
Too bad the achievement included nuclear armed Norh Korea, moves to create nuclear weapons capability in Iran, Egypt, etc. New expanded world opium supplies from Afghanistan; a resurgence of the Taliban in Afghanistan; lost of control of parts of Iraq to insurgents; and a U.S. Constitution stripped of Habeas Corpus and endorsing torture as an acceptable standard procedure.
I am not overly impressed with the successful spread of Bushocracies throughout the Middle East and the world. Are you?

I've grown very impatient with those Americans who took six years to wake up to the sickening reality that is the monkeyboy administration. In fact, I blame them for what Bush et al have done to our country and in the name of our country. My god, how much 'insight' did it take to know what Bush/Rove were all about (much less the white/male/country-club crew that's currently running the Republican Party)? Bush's personal history is one of mediocrity and failure that's been covered over by family wealth/privilege. And, Rove's been playing the same nasty (and unacceptable) games forever. Then there's bitter warmongering Cheney who's been stewing for decades to get a Vietnam redo...unfettered by us truth-seeking hippies, of course.
The carnage in Iraq is sickening; but having the likes of Cheney still spouting Iraq Tales that directly conflict with the visible reality is worse.
If this 'gang' is representative of the 'Western' culture they're so afraid of being tainted, then its demise is long over due. But I don't believe they're representative; I believe they're deviants who're the result of incestuous politics. The Republican Party needs some new blood/DNA added to its gene pool.

The folks at The Daily Show put together a pretty good segment on what the generals have to say about dubya's strategy:
