Skyline watch

Notices have gone out to media for a news conference Friday to announce a "major LR development."

The place: Third and Rock (currently a parking lot). The announcers: Moses Tucker Real Estate, joined by the mayor and reps of East-Harding Construction and AMR Architects.

I guess this is the proposed high-rise everyone has been talking about the last few weeks. Any guesses as to how many floors. Each of their projects has been taller than the last so it has to be over 18. So at least 20, maybe 25. That would be quite an addition to the skyline and would create a good transition from the taller buildings downtown to the new buildings in the River Market district.

Isn't this where the tenants of the Rock Street Lofts currently park?

I agree homo, that would be a welcome addition. Is this a for sure thing or are we just speculating.

thanks

The announcement is for sure but the number of stories is pure speculation.

Wooo.

Taxpayer, yes it is.

Maybe the parking for the new project will incorporate parking for the Rock St residents. Still, they'll have to have parking somewhere in the interim. They may not want to live next to a major construction site for the next year or so anyway.

This is exciting. I hope this develop incorporates the ground floor retail that the area needs to become more pedestrian-friendly.
