"Beebe is embedded in the
periphery of disdainful
behavior, and the perception
is ripe for exploitation."
Brummett was certainly right, in 1997, about the perception being ripe for exploitation. The Republicans just let it age 9 years like a good vinegar before they unleashed the exploitation, properly timed to get voter's attention with little time left to allow voters to learn the truth.
We all knew they'd pull something. Apparently this is all they could come up with. Lame.
Isn't this charge consistent with what Warwick Saban wrote about in his column this week? I realize that he also discussed how Mike Beebe's coziness with the ledge could be a positive, but there still is some valid concern.
Even after convicted Nick Wilson still was able to dictate the terms of his departure from the ledge. I would have liked to have seen Mike Beebe show more leadership in booting the convict.
If elected governor, I hope that Mike Beebe shows a little more leadership. I wonder what the other candidates would have done to a colleague who was stealing from children's programs.
Brummet also called it "an appropriate thing to consider when a guy offers himself for governor."
Anmd Warwick wrote that , "There is a good reason why the Republicans saved these attacks for last. They are among the only indisputable criticisms of Beebe.
Beebe is a follower not a leader, if he was not at least complicit in the scandal then he should have shown enough integrity to do something about it.
John Brummett has done what Beebe has managed to do, which is take every side of every issue. They are clearly running from their past, both of them.

Arkansas members of Congress, especially Rep. Mike Ross, continue to benefit from fund-raisers where corporate lobbyists are either the hosts or main guests, illustrating one of the many sides of the lawmaker-lobbyist relationship that the public knows little about.

Theres a time to talk sweetly to members of the opposing party, and a time, when sweetness has failed, to slap them smartly across the face. President Obama has not yet learned this important lesson, to the detriment of his presidency and the nation. Gov. Mike Beebe, a more experienced lawmaker, has it down.

Brummet just proves what one new political ad is saying:
Asa will do or say anything to get elected.
He is evil, Karl Rove kind of evil.

So call Brummet up and tell him he's a liar. Go ahead.
Meanwhile, the statement stands there for the disproving: A$a will do or say anything to get elected.
But he can't be expected to do anything different, because those are his, and every other Republican's, marching orders from D.C.
Including Citizens Journal.

Although John Brummett has a liberal slant and sees things from a liberal point of view, its a stretch to call him a liar.
