Looking up downtown

We'd told you earlier that a press conference is scheduled by Moses Tucker Real Estate at 10 a.m. Friday at Third and Rock for a new development by downtown's biggest builders. Details have been kept hush-hush.

Our blog readers wouldn't take secrecy for an answer. One of them, a smart fellow, rooted up this website (UPDATE: it was taken down Friday morning) that gives you a sneak preview of what will be announced tomorrow and at top is an image grabbed from the home page.

19 stories of new condos. A new hotel -- name plate unknown at this hour -- at Fourth and Commerce. Retail shops on the ground floor of the existing Tuf-Nut Lofts. A completion date of 2009 for units costing from $200,000 to more than $500,000, finish presumably extra.

We'll be dropping by tomorrow for more details.

Meanwhile, another of our smart bloggers refers us to this site, where the secret was blown yesterday and discussion of the project has already begun.

Comments

I'd wager that that fellow either created or read this thread, where the project was brought to light this morning: http://www.urbanplanet.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=32096

Be A Part of Something Bigger!

Isn't that Clinton's old pickup line?

Density. That's what's important. However, until we have an affordable option for housing in downtown LR, $150 & under, the area won't achieve any true diversity that's required to keep places interesting.

I wished I owned property anywhere on the north side of 630. Residential single family homes within 4 blocks of the new luxury highrise is sky-rocketing.
