The Huckabee after-party

We told you earlier, and in this week' Insider, about Gov. Mike Huckabee's $500-per-plate (they have plenty, thank you) fund-raiser Dec. 16. It's nominally for his Hope for America PAC. It's really to pay for presidential exploratory stuff without going through the niceties of forming a presidential exploratory committee. Huck's never been much of a stickler for rules.

Anyway, there is a chance for po' folks to attend. The Huckabee kids are throwing an after-party, featuring pop's band, for only $50 per head. Hang on, Sloopy. They could go until the midnight hour.

The Republican Party is flogging the event, even though they won't be receiving a dime. Thanks for all the good work Huckabee did for the party in the recent election, I guess. Full invite on the jump.

PS -- Be sure to bring extra cash to buy the governor's new book.

Note from the Governor...

As we enter into the final days of my Administration, we have been reflecting upon the many things that we were able to accomplish over the past ten years. We have improved the health of our children and citizens with ARKids First and Healthy Arkansas, enhanced the highways, beautified state parks, raised the standards of our education system, advanced state services with technology, lowered taxes for all Arkansans, and grown our economic base with news jobs while moving thousands of people from welfare to work.  We have a lot to be proud of and I want you to know that none of this would have been possible without you and your support.

Some may think this is the end, but I believe that this is only the beginning. As we write this final chapter of this part of our lives, it is time to start the next one with Hope.  Please join us to celebrate the past and look forward to the future.  We want this to be the best Gala ever so it is very important to us that you are a part of it.  The money we raise will be the seed money I need to travel to critical 2008 states and test my message for the direction our country needs to take.

Thank you for your continued support and prayers,

Mike Huckabee

Cost a body a lot less to get rid of him than to herald in Beebe for 25K a table.

Man, their cover of Sympathy for the Devil rocks!

I don't know about Hope for America, but with Huckabee gone there is still Hope for Arkansas. I can't think of a Constitutional reason I'd be against Huckabee hoovering up some more retirement funds with his sham run for the Presidency.

As long as it's private money he's sucking up and as long as there is no gifting of the big money givers with a Governor's magic wand in the last minutes of the Huckabee administration, I say party on Garth.

But let's do watch both Huckabee and Beebe as they party with a financial purpose the next 2 months. I'm not automatically calling Beebe a crook, but let's get it straight that after all these years of the great sucking sound known as Mike Huckabee, everyone should be a little suspicious of his replacement.

Shining bright sunlight on the Beebe administration is the way it ought to work. Keeps everyone honest, doesn't let voter paranoia grow like mold. It's the best way to insure we get the best, most honest government for our buck.

Why oh why do people on here hate Huckabee so? Things that people say on here about him are either completely silly, completely false, or fabrications of the truth. And before I get accused of being a Psycho for Bush or some other moniker, I didn't vote for Asa.
