Sex on Capitol Hill
Was a UALR law prof's decision to file a lawsuit over a former girl pal's blog containing explicit details of his sex life one of the dumbest decisions, PR-wise, ever made? The continuing national publicity suggests as much.

That's why he is a law professor, not a lawyer.

Hey Folks, put yourself in his position. He destroyed his marriage, lost his job, ruined his reputation, and is left only with his tattered dignity and self respect. And for what? Because the young woman didn't think before she revealed his private life--his private life mind you, one that they share but his nonetheless--on the WORLD WIDE WEB!
You can condemn the man for cheating on his wife, that's a reality the man must forever live with. But if you for one second think that this is funny then you are dead wrong. Just think for one minute what it would be like to have every person you know--people that you have spent years cultivating relationships with--think of you constantly in relation to a sex scandal. The man's life was ruined by all of this. There's not a damn thing funny about that.
I predict that this type of lawsuit will evolve into a new field in torts. As information becomes more and more easily distributed, the duty to not disseminate other people's private lives will become more and more important. There is an old tort that fits but it was rendered pretty much useless after a SCOTUS decision in the late '80's.

I've had sex with every woman who would have sex back at me. I continued to be honored by the charity I've been shown in the past and have the utmost respect for them all.
At my age, I'm sorry I never got the chance to have sex with Ms Cutler and I'm sorry that she or any of the other kind ladies from my past are not filling the Internet with lurid tales of our fevered coupling. I've fallen so low, I don't have a reputation to protect any more and I'd enjoy someone......anyone....speaking of my sexual prowess, even in the past tense.
So I don't know where this UALR law professor is getting all his indignation. Unless, that is, Ms Cutler blogged about his short-comings in the sack. If he was less than pleasing, it's his laziness and lack of creativity that's to blame. I'm told that even a lesser endowed man can be a joy if he sets his mind to it.
Plus he should be thankful to even be mentioned. Everyone needs some rest home memories. I know I'll be sitting in my wheelchair drooling on my lap while remembering lots of sex on Garrison Avenue late at night.
Not only did my lady and I experience thrills untold but it was a damn good lesson for others to lock their cars. I just love it when one thing serves a dual purpose!
So buck up what's his name....unless he's Donnie Osmond, it's better to be talked about than to be invisible. God I hate being invisible!

You know, this is just another case of do as I say, not as I do.
The Republicans spent millions investigating Bill Clinton's private life and said it was because of morality.
The Republicans trashed the lives of people tied to Clinton and justified it by saying they were rooting out corruption.
Heck, if anyone knows what its like locally to have his personal life dragged before the world to see, peruse, and comment upon....I can comment. ArkFam, the National Inquirer of local Blogs attack people on a regular basis. But its all "FREE SPEECH".
So nope....I have no compassion for some of these to get what they dished out for years. A taste of their own putrid medicine should educate them why this personality politics of destruction is so wrong.
Pour it on and give them a double dose of what they gave so many others for years!

"I've had sex with every woman who would have sex back at me..."
Such an honest man; and glad to know you're out there...dbi. That's pretty much been my experience with...never mind. Just thought I'd show some appreciation for such honesty.
I'm not going to shed any tears for the law professor's sullied rep. All this self-flagellation over an inability to accept responsibility for who you are is numbing. He did it...all of it. Suing her just shows he's more of an ass than we'd otherwise know.
And I can't imagine cheaters treating each other thusly.

You're missing the point, taxpayer.
If he was so CONCERNED about KEEPING this a private matter, then why the fuck would he sue so that it becomes national news again?

He's got nothing left to lose would be my guess. Once you've lost your marriage, your career, and your reputation, I figure there's not much left that can really hurt you.
Besides, that young lady profited from the misery she caused him. Not only is that actionable, its just.

Try Hillary Clinton. She's running for President and has as good an opportunity to win as the next jerk.
But just imagine the humiliation and throbbing pain millions of well-meaning religious wacko nutcakes must feel after being humped by a raging Elephant for 6 years only to discover that the Elephant goes back to it's den and makes fun of you. It must hurt all over.

Good post Drew.
"Two wrongs don't make a right." What's right about any of it? Should we have offered sympathies, understandings when old Mr America Newt the Grinch was humpin his office lovely while his wife lay dying of cancer and then he divorces her? Or was that his first wife?
R's really need a sense of the absurd, not humor-which is so damn alien to them, but of the totally absurd. Well your chance is coming for Rwingnuts to redeem them selves. Fox News plans to launch a satire show to compete with the Daily Show:

Maybe he just wants to publicize it more so all the wild women who find out about this will want his jock. Hell, she said he looked like Clooney, that's enough to get him some raunch e-mails by itself I bet.

Hey Typekey has let me return to the land of the blogging.
Taxpayer, why should we put ourselves in his position. He put himself in his position.
An old guy told me when I was a kid that having an affair was insane becasue you were handing the keys to all your treasures and castle to someone that by simply having an affair with a married man (you) had proved themselves untrust-worthy.
The old guy told me that drinking and dancing women were more fun than church women to fling with but they were the worst kind. The reason was drinkers were more likely to find church and end up in Alcoholics Anonomous. You see they have to go through about a dozen steps as they quit drinking and dancing and step 3 or 6 or so was to go appologize to everyone you had wronged.
So years later this old hussy finds Jesus and starts 12 steppin and winds up on your porch appologizing to your old lady.
Most old ladies don't take the news very well. If that old hussy can describe your privates with much accuracy your wife might just believe the hussy's whole story.
Then you learn first hand about reapin' and sowin' and dividin' property. Problem is the attorneys get the first cut.
Can you say cheap furnished apartment with custody Thursdays and every other weekend?
No Taxpayer, he put himself in his position, we don't need too. But we need to remember how much we have to lose.

That is correct. HE.....did all
that. HE only has HIMSELF to
blame. I didn't even realize he
was married till now. I'm glad
his wife was able to find out
the truth about this loser.

Jesus went over to the angry stone-throwing crowd picked up the whore and held out a stone to the surrounding chasv's and said "Let ye who are without sin cast the first stone."

Hey ye dummies I didn't sentence her to death and I didn't cast any stones or anything like that I just meant she should have kept her mouth shut. Words hurt but they are nothing compared to what she did to him, you butt heads. Some words you people come up with ain't in the dictionary.. but they make for a laugh.

The one who made the promise to be faithful is the one who is wrong. Not the one they broke the promise with, nor the innocent bystander of the one they made the promise to.
I'm with you, blueridge, he is being absurd. Why do so many people think that the ones they cheat with are going to be silent about it?
In fact, I have heard married people say they only cheat with other married people, because they have just as much to lose so won't reveal it. Pretty pitiful.
