The clueless president

Frank Rich nails him.

"...a secret memo by Mr.
Bush's national security
adviser, Stephen Hadley,
judging Mr. Maliki
either "ignorant of what is
going on" in his own country
or disingenuous or
insufficiently capable of
running a government."

I'm sure many others have already mentioned it, but it just struck me how Hadley's memo could easily be describing, not Maliki, but George Bush.

Great article -- thanks for making it accessible to us.

I'm in 95% + agreement with Frank.

I feel it's time the American people stop equivocating and admit that Iraq is not better off without Saddam and America is worse off with our Supreme Court President Select. There's no doubt in my mind that if we pulled ever American out of Iraq tomorrow the day after you couldn't tell the difference.

If it were possible to put all the White House Administration, it's 30% supporters and Puppet Iraq's in a bag of flour and shake it the best you could hope for is ready to fry chickens.

Bush's problem?

In reality, Bush lost whatever control of events he had in Iraq somewhere between "Mission Accomplished" and "Bring Them On."

Iraq dissolved into civil war in 2004 despite the continued denials of Bush and his cheerleaders in the Congress and the media. Exactly how many American Military personnel and Iraqi citizens have to die each day to make it an "official" civil war?
