Advice for Huckabee: Stop lying
We've already remarked that Mike Huckabee's appearance on Meet the Press was marked by transparent dishonesty in two areas -- 1) trying to dodge his advocacy of the release of rapist and murderer Wayne Dumond and 2) his bodacious assertion that he was the first Arkansas governor to cut taxes.
Ernest Dumas documents the specifics that illustrate the dishonesty of Huckabee's statements in his column for this week's print edition of the Arkansas Times. Once again, the column is too good to delay sharing. It's vital research by a veteran Capitol reporter for the benefit of other reporters nationally who might be prone, on first impression, to actually believe the hyperbole and/or calculated dishonesty that come out of Bro. Mike's mouth.

Comments
May I suggest that you make a press package devoted to thoe facts that the Huckster wishes to hide or distort. Mail said press kit to key news agencies and political reporters.
As Dumas says, Huckster definitely isn't your George Washington type. If he was Pinocchio, his nose would already be in the Guinness Book of World Records.

I like the idea of a Huckabee Truth Kit. His Republican opponents could use one of those kits, too.

Have I mentioned that I'm in love with Ernie? He's all substance and NO show. And thank you Times for keeping his factual wisdom within our reach.

My impression of Huckabee is of someone who has always done what he wants and, through his golden tongue, talked his way out of trouble.
Of course, he doesn't have a talent for knowing what's funny, and anytime he tries humor that wasn't worked out in advance, it falls flat. But otherwise, he can talk his way around almost any difficult situation.
He has always had a habit of saying what makes him look good, whether it has a basis in fact or not. Many times he has made claims about his record that didn't stand up to scrutiny.

"hat he is nearly as socially conservative as the most hidebound of his opponents but he has a heart that makes him want to use the government to improve the fortunes of society's vulnerable, children, the elderly, the disabled and immigrants."
Ernie left out the main beneficiary of the last 10 year, Mike & Janet Huckabuck. Except for lottery winners, no one did better the last 10 years than the Huckster family. In a poor man, out a rich man.
I'm working on a deal that might end up making me rich. It's a new video series called Governors Gone Wild.
Operators are standing by to take your order.
Those who order before midnight will receive the companion video, PACs Gone Wild. That's right 2 DVDs for the price of 1. And that's not all! The first 5000 customers will receive an added bonus, a lovely gold plated charm bracelet with the life like head of Wayne Dumond charm, a miniature Lord's Ranch jet charm, charms of tiny gold boots & belt, and tiny gold plated Covenant Marriage handcuffs.
Best of all each 2 DVD set comes with 2 dozen gold adhesive labels. Now you too can name everything after yourself! Your whole family is gonna love it! But hurry, call now, supplies are going fast!

I think somebody ought to start a collection to put a full page ad in the Dem Gazette in support of Seth Blomley. I'd contribute. Yes...that's what needs to happen... Find out if the Dem Gaz keeps news separate from opinion separate from advertising.

"I think somebody ought to start a collection to put a full-page ad ..."
YES! It has begun!
www.24fpswillsavetheworld.com is already your donations! We've collected $0.02 so far, and counting. But perhaps the Arkansas Times would be a better, if less costly, venue?
Paypal accounts welcomed.

He fits right in with the current crew, though, doesn't he?
