Democratic doings

So if Jason Willett is heading out as Arkansas Democratic Party chairman, surely someone in blogland knows who'll be heading in.

Comments

This took me by surprise this morning -- just talked to him Thursday.

I nominate Mike Hathorn. He's young, articulate, well-known in the state, and maintains a progressive view that is in line with the values of our party.

In regards to Jason Willett, I hate to see him go. Jason has been a great Chairman who restored greatness to our statewide party. He's honest, hard-working, and will be a positive credit to whomever or whereever he goes from here!

Buried at the end of the article was an ignorant quote from Susan Altrui who lives up to her reputation as a clueless sycophant claiming Willett has good relationships with legislators. What planet is she living on? Willett is detested by legislators for reasons too numerous to list here and anyone spending five minutes down at the Capitol would know that.

I'd nominate Drew Pritt. Every time a Democrat used the bathroom, he'd have a press release ready to alert the media. As long as he didn't have access to the DPA checkbook.

What article are you referring to?

Never mind...I found it.

I think Chris Massengil should be the one. He already works for Beebe, is well respected, and served as interim E.D. before taking over Beebe's campaign.

Former NWA Rez you are obviously a Republican or part of the crowd reasonably tossed out. Your attacks on Susan Altrui are not welcome. As far as legislators are concerned, talk to the ones who were not expected to win, as well as the ones who won tough reelection fights and see what they say. Go over to http://www.ArkFam.com/ where your comments of fiction are welcome!

There was an article in the Dem-Gaz today.

Something seems fishy in regards to Willett's "voluntary" resignation. Seven days ago he was reelected as chairman, and then yesterday it was the Governor's spokesman that announced that Willett will be resigning shortly. I'd bet JW was allowed to win a second term under the condition that he leave right after. With the exception of Drew Pritt, folks wanted him gone.

The clients Willett lobbys for is a veritable pantheon in "who's who" of nobodies. I've never heard of these groups. (nothwithstanding the Zoo which is yet another reason why to kick out the numbnuts who run the LR Zoo.)

Goes to show that no organization of stature wants to invest their interests with someone who is short in stature both literally and figuratively.

The Roaming Gnome (Drew Pritt) is such a douche.

Anyone else ever notice everything he writes must end in an exclamation mark?

Click on my name to find out more about "Hoover" (apparently Pritt's new nickname).

I nominate former congressman and Democratic Whip Bill Alexander. He would work so well with Blanche Lincoln.

Former NWA Rez now I know you have no idea what you are talking about. You say Chairman Willett's clients are a virtual who's who of nobodies huh???

"His clients include the Arkansas Democratic Party, Natural State Ethanol of Jonesboro, Softwyre Incorporated of Maumelle, and Young Investment Company of Jonesboro."

http://www.kait8.com/Global/story.asp?S=6033352&nav=0jsh

Hmmm...Arkansas Democratic Party. Lets see the dominant political party that holds three out of four seats in the U.S. House, both Senate seats, all seven of the Constitutional Offices, and a vast majority of the state legislature. Yeah, that makes them nobodies.

Or take Natural State Ethanol of Jonesboro which is a group that will help to create thousands of jobs for Arkansans and is part of a chief part of Governor Mike Beebe's campaign initiatives.

Or Softwyre Incorporated of Maumelle whose clients include Stone Strong Systems, Arkansas Homecare, Full Counsel Church, and SATURN automobiles and includes offices in Little Rock, Memphis, and Seattle.

Yeah those are nobodies?? How much more are you going to write while talking out your ass about something you obviously are ignorant about.

The Republican Party child brats are at the keyboards again everyone.

Drew Pritt will be the next Democratic Party chairman and will help lead a glorious resurgency that will see Wesley Clark elected president, John Boozman knocked off at the polls and Pritt himself elected to the US Senate over Mark Pryor, who will find himself voting for Drew once in the ballot box. In celebration, Gov. Beebe will name Pritt's birthday a state holiday and invite him to live in the guest house behind the Mansion.

It's important to note that
Softwyre is paid big bucks
by the DPA. Interesting that
they are a "client" of Jason's.

"I think Chris Massengil should be the one. He already works for Beebe, is well respected, and served as interim E.D. before taking over Beebe's campaign."

southernbluedog you really need to wean yourself off that medication (or maybe start taking some). Massingill is almost universally despised. His role in the Beebe campaign was reduced to a figurehead early on because every move he made was such a clusterf**k. Mike Beebe realized that Chris' only talent was placing first in brown-nosing contests...and helping Willett spend the party's money like diarrhea.

That's why Chris got such a powerless job in the governor's office (director of constituency services, which is basically a glorified complaint-processing clerk) while lower-level campaign staffers like Zac Wright got more plum assignments.

Governor Beebe surely knows by now that Massingill as Chair would be about as popular as a flesh-eating virus. The Governor won't make the same mistake twice.

"Drew Pritt will be the next
Democratic Party chairman
and will help lead a glorious
resurgency that will see
Wesley Clark elected
president, John Boozman
knocked off at the polls and
Pritt himself elected to the US
Senate over Mark Pryor...

Prouster has finally said something I can go along with.

Spirit,

Are you crazy? Bill Alexander???

Hell, he moved to Virginia. He rarely visits the state that was so good to him. His address with the Arkansas Bar is in Viriginia but he always manages to vote in his hometown!

Has anyone given thought to Tim Wooldridge? He was the one Beebe wanted for Lt. Gov. until the carpetbagger came to town. What better way to say im sorry to the man who should have won than to give him the chairmanship? Or since everyone suggests we need to pick an '06 loser how about herzfeld? But come on Mike Hathorn? I remember all the frat boy comments when Willett got elected. But Hathorn and Foster would be a scene from Animal House if they got control. Especially with Gary Moody already anchored in the YD office. THey could create a new axis of evil and finally get the heat of Willett, McDaniel and Berry Three men that have actually proven they can win a campaign.

Insider asked, Are you crazy? ... Hell, he moved to Virginia. He rarely visits the state that was so good to him. His address with the Arkansas Bar is in Viriginia but he always manages to vote in his hometown!"

I thought for a minute there that you were talking about Asa!

Please Max, if you have any heart left, halt this regurgitation of the 06 Primary. Nobody wants to live through those posts again.

On another note, Drew, QUIT endorsing people. Nobody cares or wants to know who you like. You are the Tom Delay endorsing Huckabee (not a bad thing) or the Barry Bond endorsing Mark McGuire and Pete Rose for the Hall of Fame.

First of all, Hathorn more than any of the '06 candidates has remained active within the party and for the ticket. Hathorn was there after he lost the primary for Wooldridge. He was there for legislative candidates. In addition, Gary Moody was effective in herding the cats better known as the Arkansas Young Democrats and getting them actively into the streets for Democratic candidates.

Now for the troll who now goes by Augustus Busch, you are the same group of people. You are attacking Willett but switched to attacking me. If I was such a liability why did you waste a Saturday afternoon attacking me?

As far as this is concerned there are three facts :

1.) Jason Willett has been one of the most effective state party Chairman in the recent history of our state party. I challenge you to prove someone else otherwise was as effective.

2.) We have a huge back bench of talent from Hathorn to Joyce Elliott who would be effective Chairs to replace Willett.

3.) I have not stated any desire to run.

Have a great weekend and lets watch DA BEARS roll to a stunning Super Bowl win tomorrow!

One last thing, before you knock Softwyre, thank them. Because this message board is also powered and designed by them!

Anyone familiar with party rules...does this mean their will be a special election for Chair or that the First Vice Chair takes over or that the Democratic Governor will appoint the new Chair??

"Carpetbaggers?"

Dear Lord, some of you Arkansan Democrats are really fucking retarded and backwards.

It will be Jimmie Lou FIsher.

One last thing, before you knock Softwyre, thank them. Because this message board is also powered and designed by them!
************************************

This message board stinks. It logs me out every few hours in spite of a promise to keep me logged in for up to two weeks. Once it logged me out while I was typing a comment.

Why in the world would anyone want Wooldridge? Isn't he the one that didn't even vote for the party's nominee for President in 2004? Sounds like a great DPA chair!

Maybe "The Godfather" Charlie Willis should run.

If the Chair is from Greene County, it should be Jimmie Lou Fisher. Don't just talk about supporting the ERA, live it. Put a woman in charge

Folks as many of you know, i like car wrecks.

My saturday night was going along rather slow and uneventful when the most spectacular car wreck happened in front of my eyes.

The car/train(35 car pile up if you will) that is Drew Pritt never ceases to amaze me.

"3.) I have not stated any desire to run"

...I am going to give Pritt the benefit of the doubt on this one. I am going to assume he is talking about the "race" for DPA chair.

Let me be serious for a minute here.

Drew, it is dickheads like you that cheapen the public process. You are a disgrace to the political system, gays, ugly people, fat asses, and commuter students every where.

Some people are out there fighting and dying for out rights to have a free election and all you can do is run around telling everyone in Arkansas that you are gay, and running for office.

The best thing you can do for your party/state/country is shut your fu#king mouth. Get back to the kegger at the frat house (do you guys even have a house) and leave the decisions about the future of the country to grown ups.

Most of the time we see the good things that out political system provides, and then there are times like these where we see the dirt bags that clog the system while their fat ass "glows" in the self promotion of ones self.

America has produced great statesmen over the years, and its people have had to endure the Drew Pritt's of the world.

For the last time Drew, no one gives two shits about what you think. I am sick of having to read your worthless piece of shit comments.

If I knew, with some degree of certainty that you would be at a certian dong sucking party, i would send someone to bitch slap the shit out of you, for everybody that has had to endure your bull shit.

In the words of a good friend of mine, Drew, go play go hide and fu*k yourself.

Maxwell -

Williett ran me off long ago. If they choose Wooldridge, I'll stay in exile.

At an event yesterday, the name Bruce Sinclair was going around.

Party rules state (unless changed):

In the event of the death,
resignation, permanent
disability or removal from
office of the chair, the First
Vice Chair shall be
responsible for calling a
meeting of the State
Committee within sixty (60)
days after the office of Chair
is vacated for the purpose of
electing a new Chair. A new
Chair will be elected by
majority vote of a quorum of
the State committee called for
the purpose of such election.
