Not your grandfather's clubhouse

University of Arkansas architecture professor Marlon Blackwell designed the clubhouse at Blessings, the championship golf course in Johnson conceived and built by Tyson Foods chairman John Tyson.

The unusual building is the subject of a profile by Men's Vogue.

Good thing the chicken-crap haulers are getting themselves a tax break; golf looks expensive.

Looks like some of the greatest 80s architecture in Arkansas!

Good Lord. That's absolutely hideous. It reminds me of my 1950's contemporary style grade school.

Maybe it's just a bad angle.

Looks to me like one of those chicken houses. Very appropriate.

good grief, that thing's just plain ugly! Calling it hideous is really paying it a compliment.

Kind of reminds me of the Clinton Library.

I thought the same thing, Spirit. Except this building doesn't have all the glass and such.

It also looks like a high school field house on steroids.

^^^^^
It sort of is a field house on steroids. This is the building that the UA Men's golf program calls home. The Blessings is the team's home course.

Easy folks...

As a golfer and a fan of good architecture (especially actually having the good sense of consulting an architect...look at your own house and business location) I am encouraged that anyone would try to be bold...even if they are a Tyson...

While this doesn't excuse poor construction or even a poorly managed project...this one in particular is a matter of taste...

Remember...there is some shit you think is cool and it really isn't...
