Well, Max, there were some fireworks on Arkansas Week's program tonight! Ann Clemmer had to be calmed down by Steve Barnes when you mentioned the Republican plot to deny black voters their right to vote. Whoo-eee!

Mama told me that at the end while the credits were rolling, that Clemmer woman was shaking her finger at you and giving you what for, etc. Was it because you pointed out how thin her argument was or that you told her it's really not right to generalize a proof about voting fraud from just sitting on one poll watch station?

Inquiring minds just have to know.

Dang, I always miss the good stuff.

Shoot!
Me too, any chance it will show up on youtube?

I missed it got it via recording and the fish weren't biting down here anyways but you can catch ArK WEEK again at this time.

Arkansas Week

Sunday, April 1, 10:30am

Set your Tivo or VCR.

AETN schedule on Bluename

Max got in a good wack at Clemmers lack of reasoning, the hollow argument approach, "you can't disprove it so it aint true." or something like that. I thought the old gal was gonna bugaloo right off the studio set during the credits. Max squeezed in most of the Griffin legacy in Florida elections, supressing black votes, Miss Ann countered that she had been a "poll watcher" many times and retortedly ask Max if he had ever watched polls. He hit her Rwing bias pretty hard. Good shot Max.

Max didn't dance around like Karl Rove, did he?

>Max didn't dance around like Karl Rove, did he?<

No but Miss Ann got close during the credits. I don't know if she was unloading or what since the dialogue was gone and they used a long shot to close.

Tomorrow the big lake for me.
When do the leggies vamoose?

Finally sat down to enjoy the annual 1040 Rites of Confession to Uncle Sam today. What a terrific opportunity to exercise intellectual creativity.

Conventional wisdom says that if you planned your finances well, you should owe the gubment a little bit.

If you got a big refund, you lost money last year 'cause the bureaucrats have been savoring your interest-free loan. But, if you wisely paid in a little less each month - you probably would have mindlessly frittered the savings away and have nothing to show for it.

If excessive tax withholding was your forced savings plan, maybe you will get back enough to fill your tank a couple of times after the Iraniacs finish pleasing the oil companies by parading the captive Brits around on TV.

If you the owe the revenooers a bunch, you probably will have your pain enhanced with an extra penalty since you made the 'crats wait to get your cherished coinage.

Well, I'm gonna have to check under the couch cushions to come up with another $267 before April 15. But, then again . . . there's still 2 weeks to find some obviously deductible items that I must have overlooked . . .

How'd you do?

Damn, missed the show. How can I see it on-line, or whatever exotic altertnative is avaiable.

I would like to see this show.

Well, Don, I am a bit surprised. I thought you were a rich Republican who who have to pay a lot more.
My accountant hasn't arrived at the final figures yet, but based on previous years, despite the fact that I have to pay quarterly, I will have to pay thousands of dollars.
Thousands, and I don't think I can find it under the sofa cushions.
But thanks for sharing, Don.

In case you missed M.C. Rove ... click on my handle. It's embarrassing even to people who hate him.

Thanks for the offer, Hugh, but I can't bear to watch it again. Poor thing. He must have been smoking crack.

Oh, Heavens ...

Heard of YouTube [Broadcast Yourself (TM)]?

Now, there's GodTube [Broadcast Him (TM)]

I kid you not. Click on my handle if you dare.

Do you think you need to be a Republican to be a Christian?

this question was asked on a new hog sports chat line. they have many subjects and one is politics and religion. i was so shocked that someone would even ask that question that i cannot imagine it. where would the mind of a person be or have been taught to have even thought of that question? it really sounds like these people are actually discussing this theory.

Thanks Hugh, sneaking back in for a late nite snack...here..
That God Tube bit...did you catch the one with Oprah? Wacknuts take over the show.

Hugh click on blue for the entire Rove rap bit,,tearing head off small animals and the MC Rove bop.

You know, it really is hard to believe that this squirrel is bush's brain. He says he's a philatelist, and when the guy asks him if he has any rare stamps, he deadpans, "No."

I keep thinking I'm going to wake up from a bad dream, go to the front porch and retrieve my Arkansas Gazette, and enjoy something Charles Allbright wrote about President Bill Clinton.

But, alas, this is no bad dream; just bad reality.

"Well, Don, I am a bit surprised. I thought you were a rich Republican who who have to pay a lot more"

Since when did rich
Republicans pay more in
taxes? lol

You can watch the latest broadcasts of Ark. Week, Unconvent., and Ask from the AETN web site:

AETN.org

Thanks for that pointer, Jim.

It was a great segment. I thought it was interesting when Ms. Clemmer noted that there are kids in institutions who need homes, so heterosexuals need to step up and get them placed.

Another highlight was when Max said you could run against this amendment on a Christian "love thy neighbor" platform, and that those pushing this issue were beginning to look a little crazed. (For a visual, please see the lady on the panel.)

I thought I detected a glare sent Max's direction from her early on, but, as was pointed out earlier, it looked as though she was about to rip her blouse removing (I almost said jerking off) her microphone.

I wish I could have heard what she was screaming.

"How'd you do?"

As with Blue Ridge, I have to fork over to the feds additional thousands of dollars. Seems they need it for estabishing a democratic state in Iraq. Is that the Good Samaritan policy at work by Christian Republicans?

Let me preface by saying I rarely gamble and even then quit the minute I lose a buck or two. Simply put, I don't understand the lure of gambling.
But going beyond my shortcomings, I have a question. Some legal eagle needs to explain to me how on earth can we legally -- maybe that term is the hang-up -- prosecute U.S. citizens for running offshore betting parlors, which U.S. players can use to bet via the Internet. (See today's NYTimes story on the arrest in the Dominican Republic of American betting magnate Stephan Kaplan on charges brought by Catherine Hanaway, the United States attorney in St. Louis.)
If the business is a legal operation in the country where is located, why is it a crime for an American to found and run it? It would seem that the bettors on American soil, however foolish they may be, would be the only ones under the jurisdiction of the U.S. attorney.
Let's say Halliburton, after its move to Dubai, pulls an Enron-type scheme. How much American legal responsibilty would there be in that instance?
Ah, fuggedaboutit. I guess we all know that answer.

But thanks for sharing, Don. -Posted by: BlueRidge

Always willing to help a friend in need. Recognizing you have greater needs, I will share with you anything I find under the cushions.

So far, I have found a paper clip, three peanuts and a Zenith remote.

I will keep looking.

Rev. Ben Gilbert is pastor of Detroit World Outreach Church, another one of those megachurches. I'm guessing Rev. Gilbert doesn't need anybody's help paying his taxes, but others living in his community might.

You see, Rev. Gilbert's church has just bought a $3.65 million mansion for him, and this piece of church property (an 11,000 sq. ft. house on 12 acres) will cost his township $40,000 in lost tax revenue every year.

But, that's OK, because the preacher deserves the house as much as any rock star or jock, according to church elder, Marvin Wilder. "When our value system elevates a man who can put a ball in a hole and not a man who does God's work, something is wrong."

Why, hell, YES! Who among us taxpayers could disagree with that kind of thinking?

Don't know the church. . . Don't know the pastor . . . But rather than rush to judgment, I would be willing to wait and see if the facility is used as a church would use it (lots of opportunity for community outreach with a place that big) or whether this is the pastor's personal palace (in which case, you may feel free to throw stones. . .)

I think I'll avoid the rush and start throwing my stones now......

hugh mann,

I think I have some insight on your comment:

"You know, it really is hard to believe that this squirrel is bush's brain. He says he's a philatelist, and when the guy asks him if he has any rare stamps, he deadpans, 'No.' "

If Rush Limbaugh can quote Firesign Theater, then surely Karl Rove can make reference to it. From Don't Crush That Dwarf, Hand Me The Pliers:

Porgy: "Aw, not now, Mudhead, I'm late for my meeting of the Philatelists' Club."

Mudhead: "I didn't know you masturbated, Porgy."

Heh-heh ...

Somehow, adamsj, I don't think Rove was that clued in.
