We don't need no stinkin' third parties

That bad bill by Rep. Dan Greenberg to make it more difficult for third-party candidates to qualify for the ballot passed the House today with 66 votes. Sorry to see some generally decent legislators in the affirmative. A slight corrective to Rep. Ernest Brown's assertion that the ACLU wouldn't "negotiate" on the bill. The ACLU wasn't presuming to negotiate. It merely informed sponsors that a federal judge had approved a ballot qualification process that gave third-party candidates five months to gather 10,000 signatures, not two months, with no post-filing grace period, as this bill does. Hard to figure why the judge would find this sharp, punitive depature better than the plan he developed. Stupid is as stupid does. And the legal fees mount.

Comments

Oh why not. It fits with putting our presciptions online at all police stations,
with outlawing free expression on web sites,
with denying relatives the right to adopt blood kin which we the people must foot the lawsuit tab for when that POS hits court.

When are they going to specify the color we paint the doors to our homes?

Mr. Greenberg had a good start to his reign early on (why gives Dan?) - Too bad he threw thius dog into the mix

I notice not one of my Saline County legislators voted for this.(Johnson,Creekmore,Cornwell)

the harder those in the "system" work to protect themselves makes me wonder "whatinthehell they're so afraid of" ?

Yep...stupid is as stupid does...

Disappointed to see some of those names...
