He wears it well

Rod Stewart, at 62, still entertains. Here's Brian Chilson's shot from Stewart's Alltel show Friday night.

To heck with water aerobics and Tai Chi. I gotta get into the entertainment biz . . .

Overall a good show.

I sat on the aisle and women fans kept rushing the stage.

It was a hoot. Soccer grandmoms recreating those "Beatles on Ed Sullivan" clips.

The lady beside me rushed the stage when Rod came our way with her camera. She was jumping up and down, waving her arms in the air and claims she "touched his shoe".

Then she realized that she hadn't taken any pictures.

She was despondant, but during the Maggie Mae encore Rod came back over and she snapped a good one.

In the men's room after the show a "security" guy said that it was the oldest group of groupies he had ever seen but that they were very well behaved.

Personally I thought the girl sax player was HOT but the curly haired singer/dancer of the "Rod-ettes" was pure eye-candy.

Rod seemed quite down to earth with his self effacing humor and comments.

Oh to have such energy at his age! Third time I've seen Rod in the last 10 years. First 2 times I won radio station tickets. This time I paid and it was well worth it. He always puts on an outstanding show!

I didn't make it to this show, but I've seen him a couple of times. My favorite show was the first time he played in LR back in 1988 at Barton for his "Out of Order" tour he was incredible and I've no doubt that he was just as good.

I just wish he would stop remaking other people's material and come out with some originals again.

And it cracks me up when people are surprised at the energy and vigor a man of his age has. My man is the same age and men 40 yrs younger can't keep up with him.

Where are you Pam Powell? For 20 years and the rest of my life I can't hear Maggie Mae without thinking of that woman........

Don't forget old Rod had a cancer scare a few years ago too. I just hope to be eating crunchy food at 62. Rod Stewart ought to be a lesson to health nuts everywhere. He and the Stones prove hard live-ers can survive. Life's a crap shoot.....enjoy it while you can.

I know I keep you amused but I feel I'm being used
Oh, Maggie, I couldn't have tried any more

You led me away from home just to save you from being alone
You stole my heart and that's what really hurts

Did he actually sing or was it lip sync? My daughter in law went and I will have to ask her. She won't know the difference.
