Perusing the documents

U.S. attorneygate has offered up another batch of documents to peruse and Josh Marshall's Talking Points Memo website is leading the way in analysis.

One of our regular correspondents takes us to an interesting set, which contain Rovian talking points to defend the firings of select U.S. attorneys like Bud Cummins so they could be replaced with political hacks like Karl Rove's camp follower Tim Griffin. Here, one of the ideas is to proclaim the better credentials of the new hands. This includes gross exaggeratoins about Griffin's nearly non-existent prosecutorial record and his supposed superior collegiate training at Hendrix and Tulane. The comparison is with the Eastern Oklahoma-UA Law and UA-UALR Law backgrounds of his two predecessors, respectively, Paula Casey and Cummins. Nobody ever said this gang wasn't arrogant, as well as mean, dishonest an incompetent.

Sample from comparison of Griffin with Paula Casey, the UALR Law grad:

"Unlike Mr. Griffin, she did not attend top-rated universities."

Same comparison of Griffin with Cummins:

"Unlike Mr. Griffin, he did not attend top-rated universities."

Justice Department: No Arkie need apply if a Tulane political hack is available.

We now know that Griffin's "significant" prosecutorial experience is maybe three cases taken to trial.

Speaking of resume inflation: It is true that neither Cummins nor Casey was under-secretary and treasurer of the Oxford University Clay Pigeon Shooting Club, one of the credits Griffin took pains to include on his CV.

ouch what a typo, fix it before somebody calls the ADL : )

somehow, being proficient at shooting pigeons makes sense as a qualification for work in W's DoJ and of course he would lie about sex and resume (doesn't everybody?) when he doesn't even tell the truth in using his own given name.

and given the W administration's being allergic to anything remotely connected to Bill Clinton, their attitude toward UA Law School is entirely predictable considering he taught there. hence you get 150 little 'goodlings' from Pat Robertson U.

I was thinking the same line Mule...here's the holy-roller grads from No-Where U. holding the axe over people with bonafide degrees and experience.

"Unlike Mr. Griffin,...

"Unlike Mr. Griffin,..

And Unlike Mr. Griffin the other two did not put the fix on Florida elections and suppress Minority voting rights and privileges.

If Griffin continues to sit on his fanny and not put up for confirmation, he's going to be a lonely soul at the end of Rove's tenure as King Hack...

Really, though...how long is this going to last? On other threads there are Pryor loyalists that think he has been real tough with Abu Gonzales...but he still runs the DoJ...

Looks like 73 doesn't have that much pull, huh?

But hey, The Oxford University Clay Pigeon Shooting Club is a hell of a qualification to be U.S.A...

Worst. Administration. Ever.

Did Rove compare Griffin's undergraduate education with another former Republican U.S. Attorney and House Manager from Arkansas? Where was it that Asa! made the transition from home school to law school?

I case you need to smile a little after reading this post. Raw story had a great article on Gonzos Harvard reunion..
We need to laugh these people out of office until they can be frog marched to the Hague.

take a look
link at my name

The Oxford University Clay Pigeon Shooting Club . . . which means he attends or gets information to attend reunions with fellow alumn Willian Jefferson Clinton. I wonder if he is expunging his CV as we blog?
