Teresa Prewett speaks
Followers of the Hog soap opera know Teresa Prewett as a Hog fan, friend of coach Houston Nutt and author of a put-down e-mail to Hog quarterback Mitch Mustain, who's departed Fayetteville for Southern California. This was the e-mail Nutt's wife forwarded around with glee. Nutt claims he didn't know about it until long after the fact. (Undoubtedly being too busy text-messaging that woman in Fort Smith about raising money for charity.)
Prewett has given an interview to her hometown paper in Booneville. Unfortunately, only a portion is available on the link. Not on the link is the likes of this:
"She also rejects the notion the language and tone was too strong for man of Mustain's age.
"'I do regret (sending the email) but I don't want to hear he was an 18-year-old,'" said Prewett. "'We've got 18-year-olds in Iraq who would rather be playing college football than (be) holding a gun and people shooting at them.'"
And...
"Prewett was also ordered by Houston Nutt on Jan. 12 to write Mustain an apology letter. She had already done so on Jan. 8.
"'There are only so many times I can apologize," she said.

TP,
Stick to your work as a physical therapist because it is obvious you have no human relations or public relations skills. Nutt, do us all a favor, send your close, personal friend a short text that says - Shut Up!

One might want to "remind" Ms Prewett that soldiers are TRAINED for fighting. Mitch was trained for football. He was not, however, trained for he, his family and friends to be slandered by someone who cannot be considered an "average fan".
I'm sure Don Imus is tired of apologizing as well, Ms Prewett, but I think you and he will find out that your actions and words will follow you around for a long time.

On Wednesday, she gave a long interview on Drivetime Sports. She had her excuses, but IMHO, she is one of thousands of "fanatics" that say and write the nastiest things this side of Nixon's dirty tricks squad. They need to get a life.

"They score so fast it just messes you up".
HDN on Univ. of Southern California. That pretty well sums it all up as to what's wrong with the program.

Sorry TP, but you made your own bed...
You got your wish...Mustain is gone...
And your apologies are not enough...

In her defense, many times I have sent an email in anger, and regretted doing so with some of them for months.

Why apologize if you don't mean it. Obviously Ms. Prewitt feels no contrition, so her apology was not from the heart and therefore meaningless.

The Nutts and their friend, TP, are not particularly articulate. Their interests would be best served by saying nothing, rather than adding fuel to the flames.

Oh no, just ask Don Imus.

No Crazy Horse; someone with class and control writes the email immediately but has the sense not to send it for 24 hours until they have had a time to reflect. Then usually it does not get sent.
Sounds to me like this person is someone you can see right through. There's no there there.

It's a damn shame that to move the 80+ yr old Broyles (onset of senility) into retirement required the sacrifice of so much native talent. It will remain one of the most foolish, stupid events in UoA history. Losing a prize winning phyicists back in the 80s was another one. The physics proff wasn't making enough to send his own kids to college. He and his outstanding reseach staff went elsewhere.
Is there any formula or equation available which spells out the steps it requires to remain 49th state?

JRM, just to think that in 3-4 short years, barring an accident, Mitch will be making more per year than Teresa Prewitt will earn the rest of her life. I tend to think Mitch will be earning 5x a year more than Houston Nutt. Talk about running with turkeys vs the soar with eagles.
He made a good choice.

Mustain's going to the sort of school he should have attended from the start, one with a football program that produces top-notch quarterbacks with regularity. Hell, USC's quarterbacks are so good that Matt Cassell was drafted by the Patriots after being a career backup at USC.

What branch of the armed services did Teresa Prewett serve?
The old lady ought not slam someone for not serving if she didn't.
HDN is letting all us LR Central grads sown.

I wish the best for Mitch Mustain at USC, and hope somebody out there can help the boy improve his game. In all candor, I wasn't favorably impressed with his performance at Arkansas. He completed only 69 of 132 passes (52%) and had 9 interceptions. I expected better from the 2005 Gatorade, Parade, and USA Today high school player of the year.
How strange that USC did not offer him a scholarship coming out of high school. Then again, with the talent USC has, I guess they figured they didn't need him. Whatever, Mustain is about to find out what real, ass-kicking competition for the quarterback position is all about!
