The underlying crime -- UPDATE

Don't let the Beltway pundits convince you that U.S. Attorneygate is a tempest in a bureaucratic teapot. The blogs and web media are hot in this case, which isn't going away soon.

Here's an intriguing blog post on the underlying circumstances of Bud Cummins' abrupt dismissal as U.S. attorney in Little Rock as he's investigating a politically explosive case in Missouri with ties to extremely powerful Republicans.

We hear that there's more coming soon, too, from our friend Richard Fricker, who's already thoroughly let the air out of the inflated resume of Cummins' successor and Karl Rove tool, Tim Griffin. And here's a followup on Griffin's overblown resume.

UPDATE: The big picture on the prosecutor purge is that it's all about suppressing likely Democratic votes.

yep, seems all is not well in Alaska either (name/link) .... just in case you thought the WH/DoJ/Rove "incompetence" was limited to criminal political activities, turns out they cannot even execute (pardon the pun) plain-old, intra-party political backstabbing properly. (no wonder Hatch and Cornyn are the only GOPers who will defend them)

and... per the ADN article, the Patriot Act provision repeal has to be reconciled 'tween the House and Senate versions... (what stupid DEMS are responsible for that? ugh!!)

I'm not defending Gonzales or the obviously tainted process used to remove and replace these USA's, but it's damn silly to say you should believe everything you read in a blog.

By now, the wheels have come completely off the wagon, but Bush keeps honking the horn and the dwindling crowd of faithful avert their eyes. It would be funny, if they weren't killing people to keep up pretenses.

To be painfully fair to this guy, I think you CAN say you "prosecuted" a case if you managed it to a settlement or plea short of going to trial. My understanding is that's a lot of what prosecutors do.

I'm not trying to excuse Attorneygate, of course.

One must wonder if the good old USA will still be holding together when the 4th of July rolls around this year. Old dead Boris Yeltsin looks like a Boy Scout next to George W. Bush. Our country has no reason to point its finger at anyone else while holding its nose. We're dirty, we're bad, we torture, and we kill.

If one political party owns the American justice system we're doomed. Up to now, that knowledge has kept a whole bunch of bad guys from attempting the evil that Bush-Cheney-Rove seems to have perfected. Like gang banging a nun, until the Bush criminals came along even the worst of the worst knew better than to try and corrupt our justice system.

I guess stealing the 2000 election using the Supreme Court should have been a big tip off that Bush & Co., intended on stealing the whole ball of wax. If you have 93 US Attorneys turning a blind eye on Republican corruption while prosecuting Democrats for jay walking.....doesn't take a genus to see that pretty soon Democrats will be lining the road with "Will Work for Food" signs while Republicans inherit the earth.

At some point in there we're suppose to storm from our houses with guns and cans of gasoline and start the Revolution, but I think we're too lazy to do such a thing. As long as we have our remotes and Wal-Mart, we'll shut up and be good slaves.

Our government had a melt down around 1810, though it's all too complicated to go in our history books. We had another one in 1860, we all know about that one. Looks like it's time to do the melt down dance again.

Take a little time to pet your new SUV and your kids today. It all might be gone by this time next year. We have to cast out the demons in our government RIGHT NOW, or live in misery for the rest of time. Investigate, Indict, Impeach!

Bush Reiterates Support for Gonzales
By DAVID STOUT and DIANA JEAN SCHEMO 13 minutes ago

President Bush said that the attorney general's testimony last week had increased his confidence in him.

See what I mean.......

Not only should he be relieved of his position for his "overblown resume" alone, but, anyone in the DOJ who failed to verify his resume should be fired immediately.

This is a bit off topic but its all related to the subversion of our government.
Link at my name shows more disturbing info in re the missing emails and who runs the servers for both the US House and the RNC.
