Tom Tomorrow remembers yesterday

Tom Tomorrow, whose This Modern World appears weekly in the Times, has assembled a great retrospective of smug comments four years ago by right-wing commentators on the glorious Iraq victory. A couple of samples from the larger cartoon are shown.

I dont think either of these guys ever took a world civilization class. If they had, then they would have known more about how far back conflict in this region goes. LOL

A cousin in Tulsa sent me the link to this one this morning, and I've spent the day forwarding it to folks. My favorite is Chris Matthews' macho Bush theory.

I just don't get it! Before it was banned in the US in 1962, Thalidomide had caused over 10,000 babies to be born with awful birth defects. It's the drug that gave the world "flipper babies". It was a terrible mistake we're still living with today.

So why are we still living with these toxic right-wing commentators? They have been wrong from beginning to end. Rather than being banned, they're getting richer by the day. When a new misery occurs, they're front and center to freely give us their incorrect advice and opinions.

In Moyer's program last night many considered to be left leaning in the media talked about how at the start of the War for Oil, big advertisers threw a fit if one of them questioned The Decider's moves or motives. Threatened to pull their advertising.

We should take a tip from that and quit buying Time magazine and other publications that have hired and elevated bad Americans so they can tell more and bigger lies to a wider audience.

Bill O'Reilly IS the face of America to the rest of the world. He represents everything bad in America today. Smug, mean, arrogant, bullying at all times and WRONG most of the time. He's more liar than dumbass. He's a hater of the first degree. He should be picking up trash around the mall.

Kristol is evil. His father was one of the founders of neo-conservatism back in the 50s. He's a pussy looking KKK-er who is actually far more dangerous than Bill O'Lying Liar. His whole family should be deported. And yet he gets more money, better jobs and larger coverage.

The truth is Corporate America loves our country about as much as Osama. They want to make money and they don't care who gets hurt. They'd whore their own mothers for a dime. They love Bush because he lets them run wild...anything for profit ya know.

When Americans quit watching and reading these bad guys and their ability to make a buck for Big Biz is over....they'll sink to the bottom of the toilet where they belong.

WE are keeping them going. WE have to smarten up and do better. Quit watching them, quit reading them and they'll go away. Lock out Fox News on your TV set. Oh where is the Fairness Doctrine when we need it? Oh right....Reagan killed it and we've been going to the dogs ever since.

I am not very smart, but I saw all this coming. So these guys must be REALLY dumb!

". . . Tenet says what bothers him most is that senior administration officials like Vice President Dick Cheney and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice continue using "slam dunk" as a talking point. "And the hardest part of all this has been just listening to this for almost three years, listening to the vice president go on "Meet the Press" on the fifth year [anniversary] of 9/11 and say, 'Well, George Tenet said slam dunk' as if he needed me to say 'slam dunk' to go to war with Iraq," he tells Pelley. "And you listen to that and they never let it go. I mean, I became campaign talk. I was a talking point. . . ."

When you lay down with dogs, you get up with fleas.
