Hot wheels

We don't invoke the phrase domestic terrorism lightly, but this incident brought it to mind.
Quite a conflagration last night at the Rivercliff Apartments just off Rebsamen Park Road, where six cars were set ablaze by arsonists last night around 2:30 a.m.
According to a police review of security tapes, two white men in a green Ford Topaz or Escort with damage to the passenger's front fender entered and left the complex several times just after 2 a.m. Finally, the car stopped, the driver got out, and set the cars on fire before hopping back in the getaway car and making a quick exit. The incident report didn't say whether any form of accelerant was used.
Officer Terry Hastings, spokesman with the Little Rock Police Department, said the Bomb Squad was called in, but no explosives were found. He didn't know the amount of damage to the cars involved. The suspects remain at large.

Perhaps they were French nationals, non?

Bush is correct. The terrorists followed our troops home to Arkansas from Iraq.

Oui, au contrair.
They are French conservatives and had I known where they lived I would have joined the ELF-ers! A conservative anywhere is a conservative somewhere. Sacre bleu!

Given the out of the way location
clearly they were mad at either
someone living there or the
complex itself.

Thanks for telling us they were "white." That makes everything so much different.

By the looks of things I'm guessing an accelerant was used.
These guys are as good as caught.

If officer Hastings couldn't tell the amount of damage involved, just looking at the photo I believe that 'extensive' or perhaps 'totaled' would apply or perhaps 'allegedly destroyed'

For crime reporting purposes the race of a suspect is given to help identify them. You know, like the model and colour of the escape vehicle, height of suspect, clothing, etc.

Lwood, when it comes to color, you must be poliically correct for some on this site or they get uptight in an instant.

I just want to say here and now that not all Ford Topazes or Escorts that are green are like this. Some of them are driven by little old ladies and have never been involved in any violence.
But, as Lwood points out, the color of the vehicle is an important piece of evidence, as is the color of its driver, who committed this crime. Red, white or blue, etc, vehicles are excluded from the investigation, as are Asian, Latino or Black men, and all women.
Not very hard to understand.

LRPD needs a spokesperson who can actually speak...week before last it was "guns are found all the time at the airport...at least 3 or 4 times a year" and today..."unsure of the damage." Hastings is a NONspokesperson. Firmly able to contradict himself in the same sentence and clearly unable to state with certainty what is obvious.

"Hastings is a NONspokesperson."
Hey, kinda like any of the last 3 or 4 WH press secretaries.

In some cities, the police chief is the usual spokesman. Ours is apparently not, but rather needs a spokesman who is not given enough information to prepare to speak.
No need to slay the ambassador, IWTYT (or just Worse, for short) just because his boss is inadequate or distracted by other matters. Or, umm, hiding something? For someone?
Just sayin'. There may be more than meets the eye in this odd case.
