Brummett's back

And he explains something I'd wondered about last weekend -- the poor state of Interstate 40 in eastern Arkansas. (I mean, I knew the ungodly procession of trucks you encounter there causes the road damage. But I thought the interstates had been fixed.)

Comments

I say east I-40 is hopeless. Rather than fixing it, let's finish 4-laning US 67 north of Newport to the Missouri line.

Then tie it in to I-55 south of St. Louis and Max will have clear sailing to Cardinal games without having to pass through dirty little backwater towns like mine.

Well I would disagree with Brummett on all Virginia roads being paved with gold, or at least free of bumps or potholes. Having moved to Virginia 6 months ago, I promise you that the Interstate surrounding Little Rock are in much better condition than those surrounding Richmond.

There is talk in Virginia of trying to pass a bond to work on the roads. Thankfully Arkansas voters did this several years ago. Quality roads are an important factor in economic development. Too bad no one realized that education is as a big of a factor, perhaps we should pass a bond to work on that problem.

Maintainence funding on Interstate system was 75% federal, 25% state.
Think $400 billion for Iraq may have something to do with it?

Excellent ADG article today on our state's highway condition og repair and congestion. Seems we are not at the bottom on this one, we're 28th.

Surely everyone knows that George W. dug all those potholes on I-40.

Yes, Casimer is right. I saw George W. do it.

George W. is a bottomless pothole himself.....I keep checking YouTube for video of GWB trimming Cheney's pubic hair with his teeth.

I've heard a rumor that his black eye wasn't really over a pretzel, he was busy a-trimmin and accidentally gave Cheney a nasty bite. Automatic Whamo!

cheney has pubic hair ? I thought when men got to be as old and as sickly as he is, it fell out or something.

Why do they call it public hair,
when it covers your privates?

Shoddy work is why the
roads all over the state are
falling apart just a few years
after they were fixed. What's
the highway commission
doing? Nothing but spending
more money to repair the
shoddy work. How long
before we will be paying to
repair the repair work?

Does the AG not have authority
to sue these highway contractors?
