Delta doings
John Brummett explores Rep. Marion Berry's unhappiness with the Delta Regional Authority. It doesn't have much money and so, maybe naturally, it doesn't do much except employ a few people in well-paid jobs to talk about the desperate straits of the area it represents. You somehow sense, still, that something more is at work in Berry's obsessions..

One can always tell when Berry's prostate has flared up again.

Yea, it's called work for bureaucrats. Many reports that finally get issued must go thru 5-6 hands before anything ever gets done or "product" is created.
Hmmm. Maybe Berry is on to something.

If the Delta Regional Authority isn't doing anything helpful, then it should be eliminated. The same money could be given more directly to the communities to fund parks, school programs, libraries, or some proven program. I applaud Marian Berry for demanding some token accountability.
