Early politicking

Are people getting fired up for state legislative races earlier than is customary? Seems like it to me. Latest is Rep. David Johnson's announcement of an announcement tomorrow. Presumably the first-term second-term rep will be announcing his effort to succeed Sen. Jim Argue in 2008.

Correction Max, this is Rep. Johnson's second term. He was elected in 2004. Definitely the best choice to continue the work of such a dignified seat.

ARK. BLOG: Right, my mistake.
.

I thought David Johnson was in John Riggs' old senate district. If so is he thinking about a race against Irma Brown?

He is running for the Senate and it is Argue's seat. The fund-raising kickoff is Thursday at Lilly's Dim-Sum.

Even though I live in VA now, I'll have to send David some support. He seems to have a good head on his shoulders; he is not a bobble head.

He was against that crazy ban gay foster-parent stuff.

Johnson is my current state representative and a good one. He would be an excellent successor to Argue who is the best of the best.
