"Despite the fact that preorders weren't accepted for the iPhone -- at least not in any official capacity -- we've been tipped that at least one possibly unscrupulous AT&T location in Little Rock, Arkansas has told campers that they've already sold out of units. So if there wasn't any preorder, where'd they go?"
A Nevada brothel is welcoming GIs back from Iraq with, um, open arms. The Moonlite BunnyRanch is offering free sex to troops returning from the U.S.-Iraq war, and plans to offer 50 percent discounts on sex to the military for the next few weeks. The first 50 servicemen and women will receive a knockoff of their military-issued personal-hygiene kits, containing condoms, lubricant, an adult magazine and a certificate for free sex. Thirteen men and three women in uniform have shown up so far to claim their gifts. The brothel's patriotic offer will cost it about $50,000. Takes flag waving to a whole new level.
Dennis Hof, the flamboyant owner of two of Nevada's legal brothels, announced that as a thank you to U.S. troops who had served in Iraq War, the first fifty soldiers who presented themselves at his Moonlite Bunny Ranch near Carson City would receive a session of free sex, with a value of up to $1,000. A 50 percent discount on the cost of services rendered would also be tendered for the following fifty days to servicemen and women who had missed out on the freebie. Hof told the British Broadcasting Corp., "We wanted to give these guys some special care and attention."
i think she is a little bluenosed like tipper gore but she is as smart as hillary. i would not mind having a chance to look for her as president. she has guts and is a very good woman from all i have heard. they say she was by far the best lawyer in the family.
You folks don't get much news about west central Arkansas on this blog so perhaps I can slip this in. It might explain DBI's silence of late. Reckon he's the lucky buyer? (by the way, the Southwest Times is a heck of alot better newspaper anyday than the DOG.
So what's up with the two car bombs found in London? Any info on that? I haven't seen anything about it on here today (at least I don't think I did). What's everyone's thoughts on the subject?
Could Hillary Clinton's "homecoming" to Arkansas last week be her first and last visit here in her historic bid for the Democratic nomination for president?
Not likely, given the reception she received in North Little Rock's Alltel Arena. More than 4,000 people packed the fundraiser she headlined for the Arkansas Democratic Party's Jefferson-Jackson Dinner.
This trip was for the party, which was expected to realize something like $200,000 from the event, a sum Bill Gwatney, Democratic Party chairman, said would likely make the fundraiser the most successful in party history. Clinton's appearance tripled the usual attendance."

Whoa Knoc Knock, you saying that the government planted those bombs or something? The Brits don't have many rights left to give up since the average London resident is on average flimed by 200 cameras a day. Britain is covered in cameras. What more does their government want? But maybe this should be a lesson to us all.....
Thursday Rahm Emmanuel brought forth a very good amendment to the House floor for a vote.. Defunding the Office of the Vice President.. (may I state for the record I am not a fan of Rahm but this was the best thing I have ever seen from him)
The amendment lost by a mere nine votes. 24... 24! Democrats voted for Cheney with the Republicans. Two of those twenty four were Arkansas very own Mike Ross and Vic Snyder who helped John Boozeman and Dick Cheney take the day.
(Kudos to Marrion Berry for voting correctly once again)
I sure hope anyone who finds any explanation of Ross or Snyders votes will share the link with readers here..
Hooo wah! A fine night was spent in Fayetteville in a bar made out of a former parking lot totally dwarfed by a giant building with a neon B at the top. I kept turning around and seeing the Titanic bearing down on us from the east.
The attendees were littered with a Broyles twin and a Clinton cousin and I got to see the little swimmer from my wife's old yearbook. Woo woo!
Dozens of Paris's were out in full costume. Half of me wishes I was young again, the other half is way glad I'm old. I would suggest that Gypsy's go out to Lowes and spend about 400 bucks on cheap 39 buck indoor-outdoor ceiling fans, the ladies of 1977 were a bit dewy tonight.
Alas, some people named Joyce from Muldrow, OK won the 106 million Powerball lottery. I didn't get Ma a ticket this week, but I've already figured out that many chances of winning only go down by .14 percent if I don't buy a lottery ticket. Good luck to the Joyce family....don't you all turn into murders over mere money.
Mark Pryor should be relieved that I didn't win 106 million. I would have thrown such a wrench in his works. Sam Walton always said you cain't have enough money to overcome negative advertising....and we know Sam wouldn't lie.
So that's my report. And now I must go find a king size bed with my name on it.
About the London threat.. Larry Johnson former cia spook who blogs at noquarter was on Keith Olbermann this evening where he said that it would have been bad to be in that car but anyone thirty feet away would have ringing ears and close view of a burning car... so nasty business yes, but nothing near what the fear mongers in most of the press would have us believe.
On the London bombing, keep in mind the MSM mantra:
If it bleeds it leads.
Again, they wag the dog at every opportunity in order to promote The National Security State of Mind, recall the commies are gone and today's boogey man is TERRORISTS.
Anyone else notice that ORANGE ALERTS disappeared after Nov 2004? Strangely those boogey men were no longer a threat, we were safe with GWBushit back in charge.
That's the Hollywood Studio I was referring to EverythingIsCyclical including how often we change boogey men.
Cameras proliferating in London is no surprise after their 30 year civil war with Irish. Everything is cyclical. What goes around comes around. The two most imperialistic nations on Earth, GB and USA have much to fear with huge footprints for insurgents to follow.
"I do sort of get the sense now that there is -- you know -- people reaching across the partisan divide, the country is unified," she told Chris Cuomo on Good Morning America. "Bush really is a uniter because we're all just waiting for this nincompoop to be gone. I think we all finally are on the same page on that."

"Wal-Mart is a civil rights issue," says, in part, the automated message I received yesterday by telephone. The gist is that low wages and benefits impact basic human rights.
I don't know any facts on that, and so I haven't formed any opinion. I'm just curious as to how I wound up on the calling list, or whether the anti-Wal-Mart group is just calling random numbers.

Reading Frank Rich's column in today's NY Times makes me wonder: if the media had reason to know so much about Cheney's shenanigans prior to the Iraq War, why did no one blow the whistle?
Why was this story not considered newsworthy? On what basis are stories considered newsworthy these days?
Why were the few conscientious reporters who did careful investigative work and dared to speak out ignored by the mainstream media--both left and right?
Has the media lost its conscience? Is its stand for civil rights--to take one case in point--simply selective these days? Does the media prefer to talk in big generalities about civil rights issues in its region, rather than dig into the real stories of real lives in its region--as those lives are affected by civil rights issues?
Talking in unsubstantiated generalities is always easier--and cheaper--than telling the truth, when there's a price-tag attached.
We live in a state with many fraying fault lines re: civil rights issues. Where will we find journalists of conscience to match those of the Gazette in the 1950s and 1960s, to help us navigate around and across these fault lines and become a healthier, more civilized culture?
Seems to me many commentators are missing the real story re: Elizabeth Edwards these days. She's calling for suppression of hate speech, of soundbyte "discussion" of significant issues, including civil rights issues?
Anybody noticed how the "mainstream" media seems to keep missing that point, and ignoring the fact that she just endorsed gay marriage?

OnesAndZeros,
I use 'em to mark emphasis. Some people do it like _this_, but I save that for underlining. If we could use HTML markup here--but I won't criticize.
