The third way
Sen.Mark Pryor joins a third-way bipartisan group with another idea on Iraq -- following the recommendations of the Hamilton/Baker commission. Is he onto something? Brummett talks to him about it.

After having personally enabled the Bush Administration's radical surgery on the U.S. Constitution, Senator Pryor now proposes (most tellingly, via others) incremental changes in the Iraq War policy?
How many Americans (and Iraqis) have to die every day before MP stands up and speaks out, singularly, and in the glare of the spotlight, to advocate larger and faster changes in policy?
He seems perfectly able to do so when he was personally lied to by the USAttyGeneral about a local US Attorney appointment. (which, relative to the War is arguably "unimportant")
Pragmatic incrementalists are very important in government, but it seems to me that the proper time for MP's application of such principles would have been during the past few years, but not now.
The grievous wounds to representative government are still fresh, thus the time for substantial remedy is now, before the changes can become "normalized".

So Senator Pryor must have received a platinum edition of the game of Risk for x-mas and he's out looking for a new gang of fourteen to play with.. and can't even find eight players now. (what the heck is Senator Lincoln thinking?)
Clearly all Mark wants is to stay the killing course and plans on splitting any and all attempts to, you know, actually stop mass murder, robber baron empirical moves on other peoples oil fields, even when it equals genocide on millions of innocents. All at the expense of our constitution, soldiers lives and limbs, and dwindling treasure.
I sure wish Brummett would have asked Senator Pryor if he had even read the ISG report and if so what Mark thought about the fact the authors said the report would only be worth its weight in paper for a very short time (as in weeks). And that was seven months ago. Two other questions? Who is Senator Pryor relying on for his information concerning Iraq and the Bush administration? (The Washington Post?).. Just how much money in campaign contributions has Mark received from those who will profit from our continued quagmire in Iraq?
One of the few suggestions in the ISG report that would still be a good idea is getting the diplomats (ours and neighboring countries in the Gulf region) together for talks.. But Mark should know that the Bush administration and his State Department are both unwilling and incompetent. So asking for diplomacy is political falderal at best.
In short the report was produced as a form of cover your arse for Bush last fall and Bush might as well have spit on it at the time.
When Mark mentions getting out of Iraq..with the numbers of troops and tonnage of equpment... he fails completely to mention 150,000 contractors at all.
Honestly I think we citizens deserve to know what Marks IQ is and quite possibly need a psychological evaluation in order to determine this fellow is not delusional.
I don't know how we the people can expect mark to quit playing with our soldiers and his constituents when he can't even stop playing arm chair general and reading Richy Rich comic books.

Too many words about how warm and fuzzy Mark Pryor is and not enough words about this new 3rd way.
I swear.....if a National Enquirer reporter would hide outside Pryor's bedroom window, he'd find out that it's group sex every night at the Pryor house. Mark is always crawling into bed with someone....never dares do it alone.
And how hard is it to stand up and scream STOP THIS WAR NOW? I could do....put me in coach! But the simple right way is never Mark Pryor's way. He of all people wants to gum everything to death. FK the equipment left in Iraq....that's what we did in Vietnam in 1975. Blow it up and bring the humans home!
The Hamilton/Baker report came out December 6th, 2006. Bush ignored it and it was much ado about nothing. NOW....186 days later, after how many more dead US troops, NOW Pryor wanders across the isle to have a little talk with some other softies about this deadly war.
Brummett can paint his friend in hero colors all he wants, but it ain't so. Like the Vietnam War, there is no 3rd way out. South Korea isn't the model we should follow. 46 more years in Iraq I don't want to see.
If there was more meat to this story, Brummett would have printed it.....he didn't. Exactly why Mark Pryor wants us to continue the War for Oil in Iraq is impossible to understand, but obviously he does. Obviously Lincoln does too. At what point will their votes qualify them as fellow Bush war criminals?
We've spent the last week gnashing our teeth over Paris Hilton and a 15 year old girl locked in a closet. Yet 29 more US soldiers died in the same period....none of them named Pryor or Lincoln or Salazar or Alexander or Brummett.
Mark Pryor continues to be wrong....wrong for America...wrong for Arkansas. His warm smile and slow talking are killing people like he was dropping the bombs and firing the guns with his own hands. If we were awake, we'd be drowning in shame, and someday we will be.

Senator Pryor reminds me of our new Parsons Terrier. The bitch can find a hole in fence faster than I can. Now Mark in true terrier fashion is digging his way under the fence he's built around him self. Brumett is just feeding the pup, cause they all like to feel soooo special.
