Daugherty's in

I was wrong yesterday when I said Michael Daugherty had not yet filed for re-election to his seat on the Little Rock Schol Board. He filed last Thursday afternoon. Despite rumors of a potential opponent, he's the only one to file for the seat so far. Same for incumbent Baker Kurrus. Filing closes Aug. 6.

Comments

According to the DemGaz this morning, Daugherty has been accused of "apparent perjury" in describing his academic credentials way back in 1997. Why has no one followed up on this? Why won't he list his degree(s) anymore if he actually has them?

ARK. BLOG: The Arkansas Times first reported the discrepancy in his academic qualifications. Interestingly, the D-G at the time didn't initially find it worthy of followup. It continues to be a question fair to ask the candidate. But, if by followup, you mean some kind of criminal investigation, the incident is well beyond the statute of limitations.
