Election thieves

Many blog readers saw and commented on the PBS show NOW Friday night on Republican vote suppression activities. That's a timely hook back to this interview with British journalist Greg Palast, who says the Rove administration has operatives in place throughout the Justice Department to continue a systematic effort to depress minority voting by dubious vote fraud investigations. Tim Griffin, the king of caging and U.S. attorney in Little Rock until Sen. Mark Pryor put a stop to it, isn't treated kindly.

When the Ohio frauds were being sounded John Kerry (What a friggin joke!) just laid down for them. He said there was nothing there that could change the election. I became so disgusted with the DLC. Were they paying off Kerry? What's the payoff for a fellow whose wife if worth $500 million? I still can't believe the DLC-Kerry were that stupid not to mount a challenge, not to question the voting machine tampering. Why hasn't Conyers, who belly-ached about Ohio in '04, called the then Ohio Sec of State, Blackwell to testify.

Do Hillary, Obama, Edward think someone else is going to do it for them? Does Biden, Chris Dodd, think that?

"He who cast the vote decides nothing. He who counts the vote decides everything" famous Nazi.

"He who cast the vote decides nothing. He who counts the vote decides everything" famous Nazi.

It wasn't a famous Nazi, it was Joseph Stalin.

Btw, didn't Jetherine Huckabee introduce the theme of "verification" during the 04 election? Irecall a rukus about her challenging some voters' IDs.
Rs wanted a nationalized ID program for "verifying" voters.

Watch for the big spin-twist between voter-verified ballots and voter verification. SB 559 seeks to have ballots verified. It will be source of confusion Rs will exploit. Proposed bill is on blue name link.

Thank you. Famous totalitarian

According to TMP Muckraker the fraud is offically set up to continue.

"New DoJ Manual Adopts Administration's Voter Fraud Focus
By Paul Kiel - July 27, 2007, 1:50 PM

Not to worry, America. The continued menace of voter fraud will remain a focus of your Justice Department.

It went overlooked amid the other problems with Alberto Gonzales' testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday, but Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) questioned the attorney general about changes recently made to the Justice Department's election crimes manual. The new version (pdf), which replaced the 1995 manual, lowers the bar in terms of voter fraud prosecutions -- no longer cautioning against pursuing isolated, individual cases of fraud and softening language that had all but prohibited pursuing such cases before an election. "Two and possibly three of the fired U.S. attorneys were fired because they didn't bring those small cases that might affect an election," she observed. "Something's rotten in Denmark."

blue name for rest of story

somewhere a harvard professor is saying "we actually gave a law degree to this clown?" they must be more embarassed than the rest of the country. the value of harvard mba's to bush and law degrees to gonzales right now look pretty cheap.

What did Sen. Mark Pryor "put a stop to."

What did Sen. Mark Pryor "put a stop to." (by mag)

Logic
reason
the constitution
courage
taking his oath of office seriously
stopped 800 hundred years of Habeas Corpus, He stopped the Geneva conventions which was also approval of use of torture.
Put a stop on the integrity of the Justice Dept by voting for Gonzo when nominated by Bush to become AG
Pryor voted for Alice Fisher when nominated
Also he put an end to Brown v BoE when he joined the Lieberlovin' gang of fourteen who would not allow the Dems to Filibuster Alitos nomination to the Supremes.
Mark was the last Democrat in the Senate to vote for a change of direction in Iraq (not at all to be confused with voting to stop occupation in Irak.)
Mark is trying to stop womens right to reproductive health and freedom. (at least we understood this before he was elected)
He didn't vote to stop cluster bombing civilians in Lebanon last year.

How did this Senator pass ninth grade civics?

Our reps and senators are weanies(maybe Snyder stands out - mostly not). Pryor is a weanie - lite in pressence and ability..lawyer,schooling, etc..meaningless. Where's the substance, action and effect!

Isn't it time for so many of us to stop circling our Tivos like a meth addict to watch crap broadcasting instead of acting like repsonsible citizens and become better engaged?

Wake up wake up wake up..engage....

Beam my up Scottie...sadly, there's no signs of intelligent life here.............

I've written Mark Pryor several times in the last year or so...and the gist of each communication is the same...I can not take seriously his dedication to the oath of his office, which included an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America...if he will not do his duty as a US Senator and introduce articles of impeachment against AG Gonzales, George Bush, and Dick Cheney (just for starters and we can go from there.)

If he doesn't support the current articles offered by Kucinich, then he should be a LEADER and introduce them on his own in the Senate.

What did Pryor stop???? Pryor is a DINO, pure and simple. His opponent may be the only republican I vote for, no matter who it is, because we must stop these Dems who support torture and other administration programs.

I remember when the Ohio alarms went off, Lwood; and I remember Kerry rolling over...again. Anyone who was paying attention knew that all kinds of voter shenanigans were going to occur on election day in Ohio...and they did. From unusually long lines in minority/poor neighborhoods to a court house that mysteriously shut down before counting began (no one, including reporters, was allowed to venture into even the building's public places), it was obvious that Rove had a variety of tactics in place to ensure that Ohio went Bush's way.

I believe monkeyboy stole two elections and I believe the Republicans will do it again...if given a chance.
