Fla. State Representative Accused Of Soliciting Sex In Men's Room
Police: Allen Offered To Perform Act For $20
POSTED: 5:08 pm EDT July 11, 2007
UPDATED: 9:23 am EDT July 12, 2007
TITUSVILLE, Fla. -- Florida state Rep. Robert "Bob" Allen, R-Merritt Island, was arrested Wednesday and charged with soliciting an undercover male officer for sex at a park in Central Florida, according to police.
Investigators said Allen was acting suspicious and went in and out of the men's restroom at Veteran's Memorial Park, located on East Broad Street.
Minutes later, authorities said, Allen solicited the male officer inside the restroom, offering to perform oral sex for $20. Allen was then arrested.
Wednesday night, an attorney for Allen urged the public to remember the lawmaker's years of public service.
"The only comment we have to make is everyone is innocent until proven guilty," the attorney, who did not identify himself, said as he and Allen exited the Brevard County jail in Sharpes just before 10 p.m. Wednesday. "We would hope that everyone takes into consideration Mr. Allen's history of public service (and) that everyone is innocent until proven guilty."
Officers realized he was a public figure after the arrest, a news release said.
Allen, who is from Merritt Island, was booked into the Brevard County Jail Wednesday night.
He later posted $500 bond and was released from the jail.
Allen declined to make a comment in Sharpes but nodded slightly when asked by the assembled media if the incident was a mistake.
Allen, is a former Little League volunteer who also donated time to the Boys and Girls Club, serving on its board of directors.
The Merritt Island resident was born in 1958 and moved to Brevard County in 1964. He attended the University of Central Florida and Florida State University.
He has a wife and a child, according the official Web site of the Florida House of Representatives.
Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.
Note to MAX ,its a known Fact ,(Allen) is great friends with NO other than MARK FOLEY of PAGE's SCANDLE ..... he took his photos and posted them when he was running for the Senate he was his right hand man back then.... and got him elected another one bites the DUSt...

Am I the only one that thinks Fred Thompson is a lock?

This was an unholy alliance when Reagan first put it together; country club republicans, the military industrial complex, and the wolves in sheep's clothing wingnuts. They were morally bankrupt all along and out of gas six years ago. Their selection of W and Dick has proved that. They are done.
The Dems need to be smart enough to really make a move here and not just settle for their own version of W and Dick. It is Obama time.

I don't necessarily think Fred is a lock, but I agree that the GOP are done. Toast. Finis.
The Jesus of Nazareth/Ronald Reagan's Ghost ticket couldn't win in 2008. The Republicans who've mustered the huevos to publicly denounce Cheney/Bush are the only hope for a core around which to rebuild any semblance of a decent party. There is no credibility left -- only moral bankruptcy hiding behind crosses, flags, eagles, yellow ribbons, and "families" that look only a certain way.

The Republican Party lacks an obvious presidential candidate, not to mention a soul
and not to mention honesty, decency, intelligence, truthfulness, or any scrap of interest in keeping this battered country alive for future generations.
What do you know....Joe McCarthy was right after all. We need a series of investigations that culminates in the banishment of the Republican Party from US soil. We need to require former Republicans to sign a loyalty oath to this nation.
In order to get future reemployment, applicants should be asked..Are you now or have you in the past ever been a member of the Republican Party? Those who answer yes should be deported to the Green Zone in Baghdad.
After all, Castro emptied his lunatic asylums on us back in 1980, let us send the warmongers to the war they love and profit from so greatly and be done with them! Save America, Cuss a Republican Today!

Obama seems like a breath of freshair and he does seem to be getting donations from a grassroots base but I am leary of more "on the job training".
Ineptitude got us in this morrass in Iraq but I don't believe ineptitude can get us out.
(That is a paraphrased quote that I think I stole from Spirit who stole it from Will Rogers.)

I don't necessarly disagree with all of you but I do say the democrap party stinks worst than the republican party does.. it did die a long time ago.. it made up of zombies now. It would not do that party any good if it held a prayer vigil hoping to breathe life back into it.

The 97-0 vote in the senate yesterday which edges us perilously closer to war in Iran proves once again we are under one party rule when the neo con PNAC military lieber-crowd hits the fan.
The House recently made a similar vote and iirc, only eight members voted to keep us from drumming up more false accusations on Iran.
So out of all of our Congress members 8 are voting no war in Iran..
We are going to bomb innocents again (there is no credible evidence of Iran working against us in Iraq and no evidence that Iran is anywhere near capable of manufacturing nuclear weapons)... yet the Bushco family never makes a threat like this without doing the worst possible thing.
Senator Levin and Dorgan are on the senate floor today... submitting an amendment for doubling the reward on Usama's head...while chanting AL Q, Al Q, Al Q... over and over again..
We are being led down a path of endless war that will have no winners,
Nothing the Dems are doing seems to be directed towards ending this.. even Jim Webbs amendment yesterday...allowing a rest for troops after 15 full months service in the field, a break... failed..
All Dem talking points embrace false, failed neo con talking points as if they were factual... we are mired in our own pile of lies...
When 99 percent of the actual congressional vote results favor the views of chasv... I think its only fair to say not only is the glass less than half full, it's shattering right before our eyes.
But chasv is almost correct in his assessment of the Democrats...
Obama along with Hillary constantly bangs the drum for war in Iran..and like everyone but Kucinich on the D side..has placed a vote yesterday in line with the DLC party line.

Some people, governments and big business, thrive on war. Without it there'd be no heros. But more than that some people and certain businesses in certain places would not be getting richer and richer by just being in a war.
My better half said that those muslims are raising their children to hate the western civilization.. in other words, US! There is no end to this war with a million and a half muslims over there that hate us and wants to wipe us all the face of the earth.
There's a few of them that love us for what we, the US is giving them and that is the only reason they like us. Stop giving to 'em and they'll turn on us and show their real colors.
Sounds like 3rd war has started. I hope not.

Dear Rickey,
Democrats are taking back our country because everyone has a seat at the table.
Our diversity makes us relevant, it makes us representative of our country, and it makes us better serve the entire nation.
You have a chance to see this in action. The 2007 DNC American Majority Partnership Summit starts in just over a month in Las Vegas -- and I 'd like for you to join us:
http://www.democrats.org/dncJointSummit
Hosted by the DNC's African American, Asian Pacific Islander American, LGBT, Hispanic and Women's Caucuses, the Summit will be an incredible chance for leaders in the party to hear from you.
This meeting will also help set up our strategy for success in the upcoming election cycle. There will be trainings on how to run for office, and how to win; policy briefings by our party's leading experts; and trainings on new technologies that will give our candidates the tools for victory.
Come to the 2007 DNC AMP Summit, August 23 - 25, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada:
http://www.democrats.org/dncJointSummit
I'll be at the AMP Summit, as will other key leaders of the Democratic Party. We're looking forward to hearing what you have to say -- your ideas on how we can, and will, work together to win.
Thank you for your work to take our country back.
Sincerely,
Gov. Howard Dean, M.D.
